I only listen to Britney Spears and Bob Dylan mashups. :)
  • Movies

Steel Magnolias, Milk, Gorillas in the Midst, Now Voyager, Barbarella, Little Miss Sunshine, The Hours, Grey Gardens, Hannah And Her Sisters
  • Television

Television is evil and it will suck your soul dry. Having said that I dig The Simpsons and King of the Hill. I'll watch most any show that involves hauntings, ghosts and the paranormal. I'll also watch 48 Hours or any other news magazine show with a creepy theme song. I miss Buffy like the old vampire slaying friend I never had and I have a feeling I might feel the same way about Veronica Mars if I gave her the chance.
  • Books

Any. All. Too many to count and too many to list. Their Eyes Were Watching God, Emplumada, Thieves of Paradise, The Sacred Hunger, Bastard Out Of Carolina, Those Bones Are Not My Child, Walt Whitman, Audre Lorde, Ann Sexton.
  • Heroes

I have heard what the talkers were talking, the talk of the beginning and the end, But I do not talk of the beginning or the end. There was never any more inception than there is now, Nor any more youth or age than there is now, And will never be any more perfection than there is now, Nor any more heaven or hell than there is now. Urge and urge and urge Always the procreant urge of the world. -Walt Whitman

Blurbs

About me:

Shitkicking queer femme poet, essayist and performer. I've recently relocated Durham NC from San Francisco. I'm heart-palpitatingly in love with Northern California so we will see how long I stay in Durham. I'm an activist who is committed to fighting for human rights, safe, legal and free abortions, an end to U.S. Imperialism and war mongering, class war, body acceptance, serious anti-racist work and a host of other things. I have been described as opinionated, funny and just a little bit wicked.
I'm a beautiful big and soft woman who believes in glitter, flawless make-up, push-up bras and the kind of shoes that make grown boys and butches cry.
My poems and essays have most recently been published in Lodestar Quarterly and Without A Net: The Female Experience of Growing Up Working Class.
I've performed in all kinds of dives up and down the West Coast and few places that didn't serve whiskey too.

Who I'd like to meet:

Writers, Activists, Rebels, Outlaws, Artists, Freaks, People who can make me laugh, People who can make me think, People who will make me gasp at the beauty of their big, thumping hearts, People who believe in change, People who make change happen, People who make the world better, People who can surprise me.
