Having Trouble Which Films to Netflix?

I have many passions in life and films happen to be one of the strongest, right beside medicine. If I were to pick one movie that sparked my love for the cinema, it would be “Child’s Play.” When I was about seven years old, my mom used to watch movies on HBO and that horror film happened to be playing. Even though I was absolutely terrified of Chucky, I couldn’t take my eyes off the television screen. I loved that feeling of dread and suspense. Right then, I knew I wanted to experience more emotions and see more images. Six years later, when I was thirteen years old, I started watching every film I could get a hold of. I couldn’t get enough of motion pictures; it became an obsession that my family and friends quickly took notice. When I was fifteen, I decided to keep track of every film I watched, organizing them into genres. By the time I was seventeen, I’ve decided to rate, on a scale of one to four, and write my thoughts about each movie right after watching them. By no means my reviews match the top critics nor do I have any intention of doing so. For me, it’s enough to find something I truly love and completely embrace it.
I’ve always been fond of writing. I have considered trying out to write film reviews for the school paper, but I don’t want something I find enjoyable to feel like work. In a nutshell, I don’t want the magic to disappear. Now that I’m in my early twenties, I’m on my way to meet my calling in the medical field. However, I’ll always take movies with me because not only do they serve as a medium that enhances my imagination, they serve as an escape when everything gets too hectic or when I want to get away from people and recharge. I absorb films to the fullest: each story can be a reality if I just believe it enough, which means each character can be a real person worth understanding, admiring, and learning from. I consider myself extremely lucky for finding several things I’m passionate about. A lot of people go through their lives not knowing which direction to take, feeling utterly lost, and eventually settling for something less rewarding. As Henri Frederic Amiel once noted, “Without passion man is a mere latent force and possibility, like the flint which awaits the shock of the iron before it can give forth its spark.” ...I want to be sparky!
