Born in Bellshill, Scotland in 1986 to two incredibly supportive parents (the equally supportive sister came later).
Resided most of his life in Perth, Scotland where his musical studies began with 'pretendy' conducting of pit bands aged 3 before moving on to the piano and then eventually tenor saxophone.
Has been and continues to be a student of Philip Alexander, Tommy Smith, George Garzone, Mitch Haupers, Rich Perry, Jim McNeely, Hal Crook, Ed Tomassi, Greg Hopkins, Phil Wilson.
Former pupil of Perth Academy and Berklee College of Music.
Current student at William Paterson University for a Masters in Jazz Performance.
Has performed throughout the British Isles and the United States (notably in New York, Boston, Minneapolis and Philadelphia).
Awards:
Scholarship to Berklee College of Music (2004), Donald Dewar Arts Award (2005), Forteviot Charitable Trust (2005, 2008 & 2009), John Montgomery Bursary (2005, 2008 & 2009), Scottish International Education Trust (2008) and the Quincy Jones award (from the Harmony Dept. at Berklee, 2007)
