| About FREAKDANCE RECORDS |
FREAKDANCE RECORDS is an independent, psychedelic/experimental trance-dance music label formed as a collective of electronic musicians in 2002. We are rooted in Espoo and Helsinki area in southern Finland.
Our main focus is to release and promote Finnish psychedelic electronic music ("suomisaundi" / "suomi-sound") and to support the surrounding psychedelic / spugedelic subculture by organizing parties and other events. We are interested in releasing and promoting melodic, funny, original, experimental, completely wild, freaky & funky sound matter with good vibrations - especially stuff with NO genre limitations !!!
Label managers are Jere Häkkinen (Luomuhappo) and Max Laine (Huopatossu Mononen, Bem-pole Connection, Egosentrifug, Tekniset).
In 2002, two promotional CDr releases were made (Luomuhappo: Eurogorilla 2002 Transmutation Kit and FreakdanceRecords02 compilation) and in 2003 we released our first actually printed CD compilation (FDCD03).
From there on, we have released albums from such artists as Puoskari, Luomuhappo and James Reipas.
In early 2007, Faerie Dragon Records released cool digipak re-issues of our two long-ago sold out titles, "Puoskari: The Audio Hustler" (cat.nr. FDCD04) and "Luomuhappo - Pog-o-Matic Pogómen 3000000" (cat.nr. FDCD05). This was a great way to celebrate our 5th year in existence! And that's not all, our next release will appear November 1st, 2007 - it's the debut album from Finnish trance duo Lemon Slide, titled "True Nature" :)
We are continuing to evolve and will always aim in keeping our sounds fresh, exciting and most of all, turbo-spugedelick! More sounds and releases are coming soon, so stay tuned folks!
