Freak Nut Rat Patrol was formed in the winter of 2005. All members have known one another for years and have all ventured around the music scene for quite some time. James Ranke (vocals/rhythm guitar) and Danny Oliver (bass) made up 2/3 of TRIP TO FEEL, an acoustic jam band strictly known to the campus scene. Eventually, they picked up long time best friend Sean Fitzpatrick (lead guitar), who along with Dan previously played in the metal band CORE and changed the name to "Freak Nut Rat Patrol." Soon after, Kyle Dorsey (drums), formerly of an acoustic act with James replaced the missing link behind the drums and the music began. Just a couple short months later they ventured into the Columbus music scene playing venues such as Ruby Tuesday's, CBR's, the Lodge Bar and the Basement. They have headlined the Newport Music Hall and opened for celebrated artists like Socialburn and Zoso. FNRP plans to release a "Live at the Newport" CD as early as January 2007, as well as a full length album to follow up their 4 song E.P. Freak Nut Rat Patrol hopes to be a staple in the the local, regional, and hopefully national music scenes for years to come and encourages any fans of live music to see "at least one Freak Nut show."

Hi there Freak Nut Rat Patrol first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
Many people wanted to use us in the future so if you were one of those people make sure you bookmark the link below so that in the event that we do close our myspace account you won't lose contact with us. I wish you the best of luck in your music career. Thanks again for being our myspace pal.
You all should definitely try to get some of those Coach purses, because they would be sweet accessories to your amps and guitars. Get ones that match.
