Freaky Age are an alternative / indie rock band from Brussels, Belgium. Having caused a flurry of excitement in early 2008, the band were quickly snapped up by V2 Records (Benelux). In April 2008, they released self-produced debut album ‘Every Morning Breaks Out’ with debut single ‘Time Is Over’ hitting the radio charts at number 5 followed by ‘Where Do We Go Now’ spending four weeks at number 1 (23 weeks in the charts in total).
Following the success of their album the band have spent the last year touring Belgium, France and Holland and playing prominent festivals including Belgium’s biggest and most prominent festival PukkelPop. With their energetic live shows and catchy songs, the band have built up a solid fanbase and Radio, TV and Press attention has been huge.
Recent nominations for Best Alternative Band, Best Breakthrough and Best Song for Belgium’s Music Industry Awards (MIA's) and MTV/TMF Awards have only affirmed their talent and dedication. But there is more to be done. The band are currently in the studio working on their new album to be produced/mastered in Belgium and in the UK, with an extensive UK and European tour to follow.
After another massive summer of gigs and festivals, we have tucked ourselves away in the studio to work on new material for the forthcoming album.On the 12th of October, we'll start recording at Dada Studios in Brussels and we'll be keeping you up-to-date with exclusive photos, video footage and blogs.
