We descended directly from Tower of power, the NY salsa scene, and Local New Wave and Ska bands. among our influences, I will stick to locals.

The freaky executives. Started by Piero (el malo) Infante-Ornelas, and Michael Maung in 1982 after tripping on some mescaline and seeing a local band named "MoJo" play at the berkeley square. Mike and I were always running into one another, at gigs and hanging out across from berkeley high.
before you go any further, check out what we're doing NOW
Now, on to freaky executive history
the ORIGINAL lineup.
Piero (vocals and timbales)
Michael Maung (guitars, background vocals)
Michael Skolnick (Bass, background vocals)
Ronnie Lee (drums)
Jed Krienberg (guitars)
Theodore Barry Vinvent (keyboards)
Stephano Desarega (Sax)
this lineup was in effect for the first year and a half of the freakies life.
Lineup no. 2.
Later on some members were were replaced.
Piero (vocals and timbales)
Michael Maung (guitars and background vocals)
Marc Baum (Sax)
Dan Regan (trombone)
The friendly Otter (keyboards)
Bo Freeman (bass)
Eric McAnn (bass)
Jay Lane (drums)
Scotty Roberts (drums and later, vocals)
this was the lineup that would kick ass. the combination of a powerhouse horn section and scotty and jay on drums would eventually create a new sound.
These are the only two lineups that actually matter historically.
the band later became a watered-down prince imitation after I left, and broke up shortly afterwards amid some sneaky contractual manipulations by an associate of the band, and the mad power-grabbing, divide-and-conquer control tactics of an obsolete and toxic manager, by the name of DAVID RUBINSON.
many people lay claim to our name. not. I created it. so, I get last say on who was who and who was not. and these two lineups were the only ones that matter. so don't be fooled. It was my baby, and everyone knows it.
that is it!
We won A bammie award in 1986 and played with a ton of big time artists, but I think our greatest contribution in music was to just jam really hard for packed clubs.
later on, (I never knew it at the time) many bands would say that we influenced them. did we ? I don't know! but we had fun!
I am making available soon, an online freaky's music and photo album. until then, enjoy what I have posted.
also check what some of the former members of the band are doing NOW.

more to come!

Hi myspace folks of the Bay Area. I've just moved to Northern California and I'm hoping to connect with like minded people who are into meditation or music or ecology or wholefoods or saving the planet or retiring in the woods with a pet otter. I'm a meditation teacher, a monk, and a musician from New Zealand and I'm performing a house concert in Berkeley next week. I call my music Spiritual Eco-Folk - I play guitar and sing - a bit like Cat Stevens or Donovan (I wish!) if you remember them! And I have an ecological multimedia show that goes with the music called "Warriors of the Rainbow". There will be a short meditation at the end of the concert, followed by light refreshments. I'd love you can come:

Oh *man* I about died when I saw your comment on the Uptones' page. They were they wild punkska energy and you guys were *the* *tightest* *band* around, and I can't think about one without the other. Uptones + Freaky Execs [was that at the VA Hall? a bunch of other times, too] or Primus + Fishbone [at the Square & Omni], I've never had a wilder time [in public, anyway ;]. How 'bout some downloads?
Enjoying the new songs, too, I'm glad you are still making music, you're a talented and amazing frontman. Thanks for making a million memories for me.
