Biography

Fredag den 13:e (translated: Friday 13:th) started out like most punk bands as an idea during a drunk night out in Gothenburg, sometime in the beginning of 2006. The guitarists Stoffe (ex Penalty Time) and Jacob (High Hats/The Process/Sweet Addiction) had for a long time been talking about starting a band which would combine both the power of Scandicrust with the rock n’ roll feel of Poison Idea and Motörhead – believe it or not, a rehearsal was actually booked a couple of weeks later. Stoffe had at that time been talking to Skägget (ex Kalashnikov Boys) and the drummer Johannes (ex Penatly Time). After several weeks of riffing in the rehearsal place the band found its singer in Anders (Age of Woe/Third World Crisis), which after a while resulted in a self titled seven inch – Fredag den 13:e.

After some time Johannes decided to leave Gothenburg and then the band discovered the drum genius Niclas (Seeds in Barren Fields/High Hats/Sthlm Blodbad). With a new lineup a split seven inch was soon released together with HC-friends Dobermann Cult, and the recording started for the debut album “Under Iskalla Fanor”. The final result of this work has now finally arrived from the pressing plant in shape of a limited gatefold LP (Deviance, Civilisation, Undislessed, Iconoclast, Ravachol och Subversive Ways Records) and a CD released through Black Seeds Records.

After three tours through Europe, participation on numerous of punk compilations and with new songs waiting to be recorded, Fredag den 13:e are now ready to take over. This summer you will be able to see them perform live in Sweden at Punkterad Festival at Truckstop Alaska, Gothenburg, on May 14:th and the Punk Illegal Festival in Folkets Park, Munkedal, on June 24:th. Watch out!
