I’ve learned at the age of 7 - accordion and 5 year later, the sister of my father buy me a guitar, and I have to learn by my oncle, a very good professor of music (violine, guitar, piano and accordion) playing classical guitar. That was unique, he said I have to learn by notes and I play the ground rhythm of the master "Howling Wolf". My oncle exploded, and howl also "what is this". He never hear a sound like "Wolf" - but I love it.
The following years I had the same problems at home, with my music, nobody in the family understand my feeling for this sort of sounds.
I learned the parts from listening singles or Lp’s and one of my favorite guitar player was Earl Hooker. Later my first impression to work real with the slide gave me Mr. Houston Stackhouse, when he was in Vienna for a concert. He stand 3 day at our house/app. and gave me lessons how I use the slide/bottleneck - and he was great. He tells me many tricks and licks for a very good bluesy tone. I also got the chance to meet and play with Louisiana Red, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Louis Myers, Eddie Taylor, Bob Stroger, Brewer Phillips, Homesick Jamesand a highlight was a two day private jam with Hubert Sumlin; -- and with this friends I had the best teachers for my "bluesy" life. (....that was in my youngerdays, before I got my own band "BluesStuff").
