.....a roller coaster ride of heart and soul! As you listen I hope it touches you in some special way and maybe you will leave a little bit different or enlightened as you relate somehow to one of the songs! I hope you not only heard it but felt it...for that is what music is supposed to be all about!!
No one knows where the winding roads and journeys through life will take us from one day to the next, but we must keep on keeping on- for nothing worth anything has ever been easy to obtain! I hope everyone who listens to these songs might feel a part of my life's lessons and find a little bit of you in each song.
..
Freddie Way grew up in a small town in the Northeast Georgia mountains. He began his singing career at the age of 18 when he heard about a local talent contest. Even though he was under age, Freddie convinced the manager to let him enter the contest. His first time ever on stage, he brought the crowd to their feet for a standing ovation singing George Strait's "The Fireman." From that moment on, his musical fire was lit! He sang at every honky tonk, contest, event, and any other place he could find - Freddie Way had found a new love of music. "I've always heard 'do what you love' and music is my passion and what I love! I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else!"
Freddie went on to win several local and national contests, building his fan base as he went. He would also volunteer his talents for local charitable events to give back to the community. He took an interest in the acoustic guitar and fiddle - both of which he taught himself to play. Freddie also began to come up with melodies for songs and started songwriting. As time passed, his guitar playing and songwriting skills grew stronger as he began writing songs to best suit him and showcase his versatile and powerful voice. He continues to play both instruments, mainly guitar, solely by ear. For years, Freddie developed his voice to find his own style. "I'm a belter that sings from the heart and I believe music is something you should feel as well as hear. When a person hears one of my songs, I hope they go away feeling some emotion and get lost in the words from the song and find something they can relate to in each one!"
Freddie has opened for various major acts including Sammy Kershaw, Little Big Town, and Ricky Skaggs. He also received a tremendous compliment from a very well-known DJ at one of Georgia's major radio stations. Moby in the Morning was so impressed with Freddie's live performance, he predicted him to be a platinum selling artist one day! Freddie's unique voice separates him from others in that he has been said to have an extremely versatile vocal range and sings with such passion that you get lost in his voice. He has been compared with such major acts as Ronnie Dunn of Brooks and Dunn, Travis Tritt, and Keith Urban all combined into one melting pot of talent!
Determined to go after his dream, Freddie went to Nashville to record a demo CD of original songs at Dark Horse recording studio and also Omni Sound studio. The response from the producer, musicians, and mastering company was unbelievable! After returning from Nashville, Freddie immediately began performing his original songs. He received an overwhelming response from fans and audience members that wanted to buy an album. Freddie decided to set up a date to return to Nashville and record 5 more original songs.
"I had recorded a song called "You're All I Need " and couldn't believe the response we got playing it out live and people listening to it online. It gradually started having a snowball effect and we offered ringtones for it and had over 15,000 downloads in a couple of months! I started to realize - maybe we have something here! That kind of stuff really moves me, motivates me, and humbles me! I think fans are most important because without them we are nothing!"
Freddie has been songwriting continuously in 2009 and has been back in the studio again even more excited this time! "I believe there's a point in an artists musical career where you find yourself vocally and in songwriting. I have been gearing myself towards that - honing in on what makes me...me. I can't wait to get these songs out there and share with the world of country music fans and, hopefully convert some more new fans over!! I look forward to the rest of the coming year and the future.. waiting to see what the tide brings in...'cause no one knows where the winding roads and journeys through life will take us from one day to the next but we must keep on keepin' on because nothing worth anything has ever been easy to obtain!"
