Rather than do a page on one particular band, I thought it would be fun to show some of the projects that I have wasted the last 20 years doing.
I would like to meet other like minded souls who dig cool sites and sounds, 60's garage & psychedelic, Limey bop, freakbeat, Invasion, 50's R&B, Doo Wop, Rockabillly, Country, 60's girl groups, Go Go, Instro, Surf & Drag, Group Sounds, Nederbeat, whatever else hep I am forgetting, B-movies, movies about Santa Conquering Martians, Film Noir, trash culture, Tiki junk, vintage music gear, records, clothes, furniture get the picture?
PURCHASE COVINGTONS, FORTUNE & MALTESE & THE PHABULOUS PALLBEARERS & FREDDY & THE FOUR-GONE CONCLUSIONS RECORDS HERE!
The Visigoths, totally crude and inept! My first attempt at a true 6T'z styled garage band, as close to getting the "Back From The Grave" sound as you can get, without trying. Real teen trash by real teens, circa 1987.
The Covingtons was started after the demise of the short lived Visigoths project. It was started by me and high school buddy Jonny Chan (Jonny Chan & The New Dynasty Six, Dionysus LP/CD) and grade school friend Greg Boes. The track here is an unreleased original written by bass player Steve Connell. Though the band had multiple recordings, they were all left in the can as the band money was wisely spent on an old Cadillac Hearse. Brilliant move!!! This song is an unissued Monkees song used on their TV show but never issued on a record. We learned it from the bootleg LP Monkeeshines
Below: The Covingtons final show, Cross Street Station, Ypsilanti. F&M were to start about a year later to the date. We were well under way with the concept at this point. Note the Jacket.
The final line up of the Covingtons had seen the addition of Michael Maltese to the mix. The band slowly ground to a halt after Jonny re-located to NYC.
A year or two passed and Fortune & Maltese & The Phabulous Pallbearers were born, kind of the Boyce & Hart of the garage punk set. fortuneandmaltese.tripod.com/
After a succesful 1998 tour of Europe F&M parted ways when Maltese decided to relocated to LA. I then started Freddy & The Four-Gone Conlusions in 2000. We recorded a full length LP/CD for Get Hip that was released in 2002, featuring an unissued track by Del Shannon with original Keyboard man Max Crook playing on our version. The song here is an album track about a ghost I saw in a dream, with obvious Who overtones.

"Behind Locked Doors"
F&FGC parted ways, and Maltese moved back to the midwest, so F&M & The Phabulous Pallbearers are back playing again when the gig is right. The track here is from an unreleased recording of us doing Boyce & Harts' fantastic "Alice Long" & First LP.

COOL!! it's amazing but one of my new demo's sounds very similar to you song Set Her Free... I have still yet to do a cover of The Bachs - My Independence Day.
