Throughout his senior year in high school, Frederick was trying to find what “the next chapter” in life would be. Since the age of 14, Frederick has been leading worship at churches all around Georgia. He was blessed to find a passion for his form of worship; music. However, throughout high school, there was always a side of him that desired mainstream music. Being influenced musically by bands such as The Fray, Coldplay, and Switchfoot, Frederick started to chase that dream all of his senior year. He was desperate to be signed by a label.
As the end of his senior year in high school was quickly arriving, Frederick did not know what to do. Go to school? Keep doing music? Do both? He was becoming discouraged as quickly as his senior year was ending. However, he had completely left out one big part of his life. Worship music. For so long, he had built a passion to lead God’s people into His presence through music. The summer after high school, Frederick had the opportunity to lead worship for a local church’s summer camp. There, he came to discover that passion for worship once again.
“It’s not just people raising their hands up during a chorus. It’s not just singing about the God who loves us. It’s the feeling of being overwhelmed by the very presence of God Himself. And knowing that you are not the only one in the room feeling it.” As Frederick continues to attend college and lead worship around Georgia, there is one thing that is certain in his life. “I’m not just playing music for people in a church. I’m playing for the greatest audience I could ever have. God.”
