On June 10th, 2009, the world premiere performance of the symphonic suite »Cantabile«, composed by Frederik Magle, took place at a televised gala concert arranged by the Royal Family and Danish television, featuring the National Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, Thomas Dausgaard, Frederik Magle (on piano), and others. Frederik Magle, composer, concert organist and pianist. Works with classical music, film music, electronica, and crossovers between many different genre including jazz, rock, gothic and electronic music. Frederik Magle has also produced a number of CDs working as producer on recording sessions, editing and post production.
»...He began composing at the age of 5 and took lessons of piano and music theory from the age of six. The first public performance of his music took place when he was 8 years old.
Frederik Magle's music has been performed by The London Philharmonic Orchestra, Zürcher Kammerorchester, The Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Riga Philharmonic Orchestra, South-Jutland Symphony Orchestra, The Danish Radio Sinfonietta, Nikolaj Znaider and many other ensembles and soloists.
The world premiere performance of the first movement »Souffle le vent« from Frederik Magle's symphonic poem »Cantabile« (with text by H.R.H. Prince Henrik) took place at a televised gala concert in 2004, with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, in celebration of the Prince Consort's 70th birthday.
As a soloist on piano or pipe organ Frederik Magle has played in Saint Peter's Basilica (Rome), Windsor Castle, Luzern Concert Hall, Riga Cathedral, The Danish Radio Concert Hall, and many other places.«
