Started with guitar age 12 ('Blackbird' was the first song I learned).
Moved to drums (snare only) at 14 and started first band with Pete Segerson (Serg). We played Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, and Ramones for starters.
Moved to bass guitar when Doug Ernest showed up with a full drum kit, then added Al Aleicho on vocals and the band Vicious Circle was born. Began writing our own songs and opened for many of the seminal 80's punk/hardcore bands.
Went away to college.
In college played drums for Two Guys and Another Guy with band members George Sullivan and Dave Lopes. Before graduating, was asked to join Throwing Muses on bass. Said yes.
Joined Throwing Muses for 'Real Ramona' album and tour, then Muses split up. Asked to join Belly with Tanya Donnely. Said yes.
Recorded 'Star' with Belly (Tom and Chris Gorman on guitar and drums) and did small tour, then quit music business until.....
