Original. Authentic. Honest. These are just some of the words used to describe Fred Shafer's music. Paired with his insatiable work ethic and blue-collar attitude, Fred has gained a reputation as not only an passionate showman, but also a dedicated road warrior. Spending most of his time on tour, Fred has developed a large and fiercely loyal fan base. Collaborating with producers Brian Sperber(Moby, Hinder, 3 Doors Down) and Mike Mushok(guitarist from the band Staind) on his last EP, Fred is poised to release his Jamey Perrenot(LeAnn Rimes, Taylor Swift) produced, "Resistor" in August 2009.
At age 27, Fred Shafer is an old soul. Born in Las Vegas, raised throughout the
Southwest and Texas, Fred ultimately made roots in the Mid-West. His fatherless, nomadic childhood provides a template for his lyrically driven melodies and emotionally accessible songs. With a voice that harkens to the days of Joe Cocker, Al Green, and Sam Cooke, Fred delivers these heartfelt songs with unparalleled sincerity. In a time of cookie cutter performers and gimmick bands, Fred relies on the only proven recipe for success: talent combined with good old-fashioned hard work.
In 2008, Fred collaborated with producers Brian Sperber(Moby, Hinder, 3 Doors Down) and Mike Mushok(guitarist from the band Staind) to record, "The Fred Shafer EP". The acclaimed EP became the basis for Fred's NEW record, "Resistor", (Aug. 2009). Standout tracks like "Letting you go" and "Into the Ground" only further showcase Shafer's uncanny ability to move between rock anthem, classic ballads and catchy pop...all the while, continuing to sound soulful, modern & fresh. Shafer composed all of the songs that appear on "Resistor", some co-written with freinds and other Artists, some with Grammy Nominated Writers. Producer Jamey Perrenot(LeAnn Rimes, Taylor Swift, Paul Brant), Grammy Award Winning Mixer Rob Burrell(Michael W. Smith) and All-Star backing band help Shafer deliver his best work yet!
With over 17,000 records sold and his music heard in movies like Miramax's, "The Station Agent" and television programs like "The Shield" and "Ultimate Fighting Championship", Fred has also been featured in Vanity Fair's 2003 Music Edition, Billboard Magazine, and Hit Parader, as well as had a music video in rotation on RAGE TV. In addition, several of Fred's songs have been added to the play lists of over 50 commercial and college radio stations: “It's All On Me” reached 1 on two of these stations. These songs, together with his emotional and charismatic performances, have afforded Fred the opportunity to share the stage with major acts such as Chuck Berry, Kid Rock, Goo Goo Dolls, Staind, Collective Soul, Gov't Mule, Saliva, D12 and many more, all independently. Recently, Fred has these skills to writing songs for Kelly Clarkson, Faith Hill, Canadian Idol and Pop Stars.

World's Shortest Fairy Tale Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl, 'Will you marry me?' The girl said, 'NO!' And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and went fishing and hunting and played golf and went to Vegas and Hooters a lot and drank beer and scotch and had money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted. The End
