Fred does things with his hands to wood, metal, electronics, musical instruments, paint, paper, and canvas. Fred creates strange electronic soundscapes and weird Fluxus sound poetry. Fred has mad skillz yet seldom leaves his house. Fred makes art for Fred only and rarely participates in gallery shows or other artist type stuff. Fred has never attended the opening night of any of his own exhibitions he just drives by and looks through the window. Fred is a keen observer of life and documenter but not a participant, Fred likes to watch. Maybe this is why Fred is so involved in making grainy pixlevisionesque films. Fred even went to the trouble to make his own video cameras out of cast off parts found at thrift stores and swap-meets that feeds his fix to be one with the god of the cathode-ray tube. I dig groovin' on old Analog modular synthesizers some times on the Electric Bass Guitar, and sampling sounds with a portable tape recorder. I make my own experimental electronic music soundscapes and fluxus sound poetry that I sell on homemade CDs with original cover art. But you probably already knew all of that, huh?

Terry Gilliam by the way has often been overheard saying that he wishes he could be Fred Wilder when he grows up. Which is probably just about the greatest compliment I have ever made up about myself.

About me: Hello my name is Fred Wilder so hurry supplies are limited ring bell and face camera I may let you inside if the mood is right. YES, I am that dangerous artist, painter, musician, and filmmaker that your mother warned you about did you know me before or is this your first time? My work is often censored and deleted from the internet. Film Festivals usually refuse my work and on occasion pay the return postage fees just to send Fred their lame comments. You don't have to understand me nobody does. Please don't believe what others are saying about me its all lies. Well ok you can believe the fun ones I guess, that's cool. My big secret is that I am World famous but Shhhhh... I am trying to keep that a secret. I guess there has to be an exception to every rule and Fred Wilder is it.
I am currently working on my film project Das Puppets as writer, producer, director and have another film in the works it's a gothic fairy tail called Vampire Flesh.

You in about two months from now at a little cafe in Paris I frequent where they serve the rich strong coffee in small white porcelain cups street side. Its romantic that time of year and I keep a small place close by its not much just two small rooms on the third floor of an old run down building but it has a good vibe and one can spend hours there doing absolutely nothing just taking in the view. Its my home away from home when I want to be alone but not two months from now. I know I will want to be with you then or maybe your sister I can't recall now its all so fuzzy.

I'm going to a 50's-themed Christmas party next weekend. I got my dress at a vintage clothing shop; it's the genuine article. I'm really hoping people don't go for that sock-hop poodle skirt 50's look. It's so contrived.
