Fred Wilhelm is a Songwriter/Singer originally from New England. He grew up on a family farm where his duties included feeding the chickens and carting out a wheelbarrow of cow manure every day before school. The latter experience has proved extremely helpful as he slodges along in the music business.
After 12 years of bands, gigs and various deals in New York City, Fred moved to Nashville to concentrate on his two loves - songwriting and himself.
His songs have been recorded by a number of multi-platinum country superstars including Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts, Trace Adkins, The Oak Ridge Boys , and Little Big Town as well as some quirkier but much beloved Americana artists like Mindy Smith, Lori McKenna, Catie Curtis and Mary Gauthier.
His most recent self-indulgent art project is titled "amidlife" and is available at CD Baby. You can download individual tracks at Itunes: ..
He is the winner of a New York Music Award, BMI Songwriter Award, Billboard Songwriting Contest Award and Fifth Grade Fire Prevention Poster Award.
He lives in a monopoly piece house in West Nashville along with his wife, author Lindsay Kee and their cat.
