Sounds Like
Songs written in my own little world while taking inspiration from all over the musical spectrum. What tends to happen though is music that lies somewhere between Tom Waits and Woody Guthrie. Sounds like country-jazz-blues-folk-ballad singalong-freakpop-slightlyoutoftune-improvised-desert music. Got it?
Free Bananas began as a trio in the summer of 2005, rocking the cover songs out in the streets.
Currently, we still rock, putting our hearts and souls into our own brand of folk music--one steeped in old-time jazz and blues, with just enough cowboy country. We play in the moment--you just never know what is going to happen. Come see our live show!
The Oregon Voice magazine says:
"Weeks brings all kinds of percussion and noisemakers to his album, layering kazoo, harmonica, flute, shakers, and multiple vocal tracks. His lyrics are sparse and the full, round sound of a double bass bellows in the background to complete the folky and worldly, nicely grounded with just-the-right-amount-of-banter-about-pancakes music."
The Mastan Music Hour - http://www.mastanmusic.com/podcast - says:
"Aside from his voice, his one man band act featured acoustic guitar, banjo, kazoo, stand up bass, and his personable stage demeanor....His music is tinged with an old time hue and he even wears a suit when he performs."
Yo Free bananas, we invite you to Volifonix's Spring Halloween Party on this Friday because you are cool! Hide your goodies well because this show is for all ages. We'll start playing at Midnight.
Hi Steven! it's Dave! Cafe Coco tomorrow?! I'd be listening to your music and telling you it sounds great, but I'm in a coffee shop where that might be rude...
I assumed that you were going to help spreading this online fliers to others and that this myspace belongs to all Free Bananas' members. I'm looking forward to see you at Cozmic Pizza!
HAPPY NEW YEAR OF OXOXOXO! I'll perform with Beat Crunchers on new year's eve at Cozmic Pizza. It's organized with half members of Samba Ja, Camillo D. (D-Fault), and me. I hope I'll see you then!

Yes, you did! It is my friend's birthday, all day, everywhere...
so, perhaps not next time (as that one is only for old folks like your self) but perhaps after that you can have another show that allows us reckless youths on the property.
AND you owe me a cd.
but seriously, have a great show! I wish I could attend.
