Reagan was born(JOSEPH GOODMAN)December 4,1981 Phila.Pa. In the NOTORIOUS SOUTHWARK PROJECTS.If the last name sounds familiar,that's because he is the cousin of famous producer Quran Goodman and great nephew of "THE GODFATHER OF HIPHOP"Lawrence Goodman"The Ceo/President of the once renowned POP ART RECORDS".Pop art records, Produced & released the likes of WILL SMITH,ROXANNE SHANTE,COOL C,STEADY B.,Da YOUNGSTAS,SALT & PEPPER,& MARLY MARL,Just to name a few. Growing up in an enviroment deemed "the worst projects in philly"combined with the fact that both parents were addicted to drugs. Joseph learned to fend for himself at an early age. At the age of 5,his mother noticed that he took an unusual liking to all different styles of music. So instead of enrolling him at the neighborhood school along with his siblings,she decided to separate the young goodman and took the liberty of enrolling him in the most prestigious music school in pennsylvania. It was called "SETTLEMENT MUSIC SCHOOL" it was there where joseph's love for music began to flourish. It was at this school where he began to excell in 4 different instruments,two of which he took an extreme liking to.One being the piano and the second being,the violin(reagan interrupts"IF I FIND OUT YOU LAUGHIN AT THE INFO MY PEOPLES ARE PROVIDIN YOU WITH...I WILL FIND & GUN BUTCHU"I'm out!!)bio continues.... At the tender,innocent age of nine, Joseph literally became the man of the house. On the weekends while other children his age were out playing, releasing the frustrations of a long hard week in school, Joseph would wake up 6am and walk four blocks to "THE FARMERS MARKET" otherwise known to you fellow Philadelphians as "9th St.". This is where he would use the money he had managed to save all week from his school snack money,and purchase shopping bags at a wholesale price & resell them at retail price to the shoppers.Rain,sleet,hail or snow. Joseph would walk up & down the street for sometimes 10hr periods. Until all of his bags were sold, and if that wasn't enough, he would stop at the local Thriftway Market on his way home & help people carry their groceries to their cars. He hustled so hard because he knew his mother had a problem and her abusive, heroine addict husband, didn't make things any better. This is where Joseph developed the mentality of "IF I DON'T HUSTLE...I DON'T EAT". At the age of 11,and GET THIS!!...the same month his biological father was sentenced to life in prison, Joseph also fell victim to the mean streets of philly. He earned his first job. Which was working in one of the neighborhoods worst drug houses. It was in this house where his life would change forever. The smell of crack smoke, the violence & the fast money, gave this young boy a very distinct outlook and perception on life. By the age of 12 he had already been shot and seen a man die before his eyes and been arrested numerous times. Finally after being arrested more times than you can count....Judge Reyonlds sentenced Joseph to serve 18mos at a Pennsylvania Juvenile Correctional Facility. This is where he met another troubled youth by the name of Dwight Grant,nowadays known to his fans as...."BEANIE SIGEL"it was there, where Joseph started to write poetry and occasionally write rhymes. After being released from the facility.....Joseph was looking for direction and something to belong to other than the streets. He was at a friends house one day, and noticed a video called "TIME FOR SUM AKSHUN"by a rapper named "REDMAN"(ironically redman was one of the first rappers he befriended and the artist that showed him the most love while in the hospital suffering from gunshot wounds, later on....) he immediately fell in love with this thing we call"HIPHOP". But it wasn't until he saw a video on jukebox called"NUTHIN BUT A G THANG"by a rapper named "SNOOP DOGGY DOG"that he decided to throw his hat in! He would stand on the corner of the block where he was raised(32ND & NORRIS/Strawberry Mansion aka Thug Mansion) (Reagan interrupts...."NIGGA ASK ABOUT ME"I'm out!!)bio continues...and hustle two products. One being the only one he knew since the age of 11 and the other being the one he hoped to sell from that point on....HIS FIRST ALBUM!! Under the name "LIIVE"he recorded his first album.After selling his own material for a couple of years, he was courted by three labels. RUFF RYDERS, ICHIBAN & another label distributed through EPIC RECORDS at the time.The young inexperienced artist decided to sign with the downsouth label distributed through EPIC. After just 1yr,the young inexperienced liive had recorded his album, shot 3 videos & even starred in a MOTION PICTURE On SONY PICTURES called "GHETTO FABULOUS "alongside the likes of JOE CLAIR (host of rap city) GLORIA VELEZ (Video vixen & artist) REDS GRANT (Comedian on b.e.t.'s comic view) DIRTBAG (then labelmate and now slip & slide artist) Reagan aka liive had shot two videos with DIRTBAG and the two also recorded many songs together. He also shot a video in Las Vegas called "FOR ALL MY HUSTLERS" with another artist by the name of "TQ" fresh off his hit "WEST SIDE". Everything was moving at the speed of light,until,the ceo of the company was indicted and sentenced to 16yrs for being the 2nd largest supplier of cocaine to the eastcoast.(Reagan interrupts "SO YALL NIGGAZ CAN STOP FRONTIN WHEN IN MY PRESENCE....CUZ I BEEN AROUND THE BEST" I'm out!!!)Bio continues.... It was back to the nasty streets he had briefly escaped. But this time it felt worst than before because he had already tasted a different life. Bentley's,big homes and most important....the key to that city.(Reagan interrupts... AGAIN!!...."I WAS BALLIN BITCHES!"I'm izzout!!)bio continues.....He vowed to return back to the luxurious life he had become so quickly accustomed to. Shortly after his return to philly, he learned of a relative who worked in DEF JAM. Immediately after the relative meet with the young energetic star, he decided that they should record new material and take it to KEVIN LILES. On the day in which they were scheduled to start recording....Reagan was unfortunately shot and wounded !this put a serious dent in the recording schedule. He was told that he wouldn't use his limb anymore.This combined with his past struggles, would have derailed the average man for good. But he proved at this moment that he was not only determined to succeed,but also resiliant and A MAN AMONG MEN. He would have his cousins, while still in his cast, carry him to the car, where they would drive for over an hour to N.Y.to record. After recording a few albums of material....and recording an exclusive mixtape with "THE GAME" called"GANGSTER RECOGNIZE GANGSTER"hosted by"DJ MARVLS" BADBOY dj & ceo of "THE RECORD BREAKAZ SQUAD"he was finally signed to DEF JAM!!!And just like before....everything was moving really fast.That is until kevin liles left DEF JAM and all the artist he had signed over the years.With no one to fight on his behalf, his project along with many other projects got lost in the shuffle.During this highly transitional period taking place, at his record label,Reagan began to understand the politics of the business. Now after being shot,testified against,recently released from parole/ house arrest and betrayed by everyone but god....I am honored and proud to present to you,THE REAL LIFE ROCKY,THE UNDERDOG AGAINST ALL ODDS, AND....YOUR FAVORITE RAPPER/MOGULS WORST NIGHTMARE.....REAGAN!!!!
