One of the downsides of my former band was that some of the members were reluctant to gig outside of Peterborough (where we were based). It wasn't a case of travel sickness or a hectic schedule, they just didn't see the point of going elsewhere to introduce the music to a new audience; it makes you wonder why they were in a band in the first place.
Freedom Faction on the other hand love gigging, April and May were quiet months on the gig front as I awaited the birth of my son. But I'm pleased to say I'm back in the saddle and looking forward to our 'Jubilee' gig at lunchtime on 2nd June at The Horn & Horseshoes in Harlow.
Towards the end of June we're playing two gigs at The Corner
House, Cambridge (I still enjoy 'home' gigs); the gig on 30th is
part of the Buzz Festival Weekend but its on 23rd where I finally
get to perform at a Punk On The Corner (My old band's appearance for December
2010 was cancelled at short notice when the drummer realised he had to take his
missus shopping that day).
We've got a trip to The Black Swan, Bradford on 10th November, which is the furthest north I've played so far, but I'm sure I'll be told of more bookings at Wednesday's rehearsals.
I just hope there's time for me to take a holiday. As ever, see you at the front.
