Freedom is a wonderfully written play, presented by T.U.R.N. T.U.R.N, an acronym for The Underground Railroad Neighborhood, is seeking to establish a multicultural artisan’s clearing house that will increase literacy, improve self-esteem, develop social skills while nurturing creativity, through exposure to the arts and positive activities in an urban community.....
In mist of Freedom’s poetic quick-witted dialogue, you are sure to recognize yourself in one or perhaps many of the characters. Freedom unfolds via vivid flashes of the past and telling glimpses into the future. The characters in Freedom examine stereotypes and belief systems as each struggle to find their own personal... freedom! ....
Thrust together, by coincidence or fate, eights strangers in the ....St. Louis.. ..Airport.... discover their trip will require more than simple luggage scans and boarding passes. Personal evaluation and self-acceptance ground each character as they share stories that have, for too long, defined them, but never destroyed them. Laugh with witty Angela as she leaves the inner city to create a new life as an executive in the corporate world. Cry with Pam as she struggles with past pains while coping with present issues plaguing many young women today. Celebrate with Jimmy as success carriers him away from the destructive lifestyle many youth relegate to by circumstance. ....
