My name is Brenton, age 22, senior at The University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida. I am an honors graduate of Gaither High School (2006) and I attended The Art Institute of Tampa as a Web Design & Interactive Media major for two years. I have since changed my career path and I am now at UT to major in Communication and minor in Journalism. I write for the sports section of the official UT newspaper, The Minaret. For fun, I enjoy sports and comedy more than just about anything else. I like doing celebrity voice impressions (especially sportscasters), just for the fun of it, because I can. I also write an unofficial official MLB blog for the Tampa Bay Rays, located at http://braverays.mlblogs.com. Yes, I actually care that much.
Other than all of the above and my interests in the Internet, TV, sports (baseball, football), the occasional pause to get an education, and the more occasional pause to leave the house and do something, there isn't that much else to tell about me. Hiya Brenton! its been a minute since Ive talked to you lol.. How have you been? Well, baseball season is finally over. Phillies didnt get to repeat, thanks to the Yankees lol. Next season its gong to be our Braves/Rays world series! I still want to go to Atlanta for the Rays road game there! I'm going to start saving my pennies for it!.. I am happy the Yankees won and Arod finally showing up in the post-season. If it can't be the Rays...then let it be the Yankees I say. :) ... What do you think about Aki being traded to the Pirates? I was not suprised but feel bad for Aki.. unless the Pirates make another deal for him elsewhere..poor Aki is stuck in baseball hell.
wasnt it great to see BJ Upton hit for the cycle?? Im happy for him after all his struggles he is hitting so much better now. to bad its at the end of the season tho! Hopefully it carries over to next season! First Ray to hit for the cycle...I wont ever forget that! 20 years from now when they ask that as the 4th inning triva question..it will take me less then a second to answer it...it will be like that for all of us! I didnt feel to bad the Yanks got knocked around tonight...you know, that win-win for me! haha
I keep seeing Matt Diaz getting caught off 3d base in my sleep! If the fans are upset I can only imagine how he must feel. I saw him shout into his helmet, I have a pretty good idea about what he might of said. lol
I am for sure up for a trip to Atalnta, it would be great to see the Rays and Braves play there. Being Bobby Cos final year as manager of the Braves maybe we can see him get ejected for the 99994512th time haha. Sounds like a plan..i will start saving my pennies! :)

I read your article in the Minaret...I could not agree more! Eveything you touched on, was right on...good writing there Brenton! What worked for Maddon last season..did not work for this season. The Black hair dye was not gonig to change that. Maddon is taking his lumps now..rightfully so.
hey Brenton...is a no go for the weekend this time. Money is actually pretty tight for me.. (along with about the majority of the U.S.A lol)...i would love to go, but i have to save the money. I am hopeing I can at least get to the Yankees series. So maybe we can get on track for that? If you can tolerate me cheering on both teams at the same time..haha. I am trying to work some overtime to make extra money, so hope to put back a few dimes so I can go! Or if not..you and I HAVE to...no ifs and or but's...go to Atlanta next June for the Braves/Rays seris...I will even drive! Speaking of the Braves...I saw Bobby Cox may not manage next season...it would be really strange not to see him. I hope he does come back for at least 1 more season!

I am not thrilled with it. I don't like the idea that the Angels are helping themselves and we get minor players in the deal. I hope these players down the road help us out in a future trade. Yeah they sure have been winning..it's nice to see James get some run support! Now if we can just keep winning, and hopefully the Red Sox and Rangers start losing...you know, my dream is a Yankees/Rays ALCS...and then a Rays/Braves world series...maybe that will happen some day in our lifetime! The way baseball works, you never know! I want to make it out to some more games for the season ends too...what games do you think you like to see? If i had my way I would see them all.. but schedule and funds, put a damper on that idea. haha.

Great to see the Rays get that little mini sweep by beating the Red Sox! lets say its especially fun for me when that happens.
Now the test out west...I like that the Rays are over 10 games above 500 now..first time for that all season. Hoping the young Rays make a big push here and get these needed wins from the Mariners and Angels. I know we have to keep and eye on the Rangers as well. The season has gone by so fast hasn't it? it always does for the fans. Hope you have a great weekend Brenton..I still want to try and meet up with you at a game some time...would be fun!
good win today! I am still quite disappointed in Pat Burrell though. But the guys seem to be heating up, even Navy! How did you like seeing Bennett out there? I didnt even realize the Rays got him, it was news to me lol.. I remember seeing him with the Braves after he had smashed his hand all up. He pitched well, with good stuff! Nice to have a game not be so close they they have been... I do love those insuraance runs! :)

How are you doing Brenton? wow, i was thrilled with last nights win, I felt like they played much, much better. Could stand to be more patient at the plate but overall it was a well played game. Yes we have seen better..lol but last night is how they need to play the rest of season and get the wins and try to gain ground. I caught the last inning of the marlins/braves game..usually the braves handle the fish well in Miami but not this time....I love Gonzales, they way he rocks before a pitch "snake charmer" lol.

you know usually, when the Yankees and Rays play each other, I say it's a win-win for me? well, I am rooting for the Rays to win this series, if not sweep. The Rays need the wins more then the Yankees do right now, my ideal is for both of them to be up in top spots and for those evil Red Sox to fall. So this series really isnt a win-win for me this time..I say Go Rays! (just so you know lol)

Pena could of bunted on against the shift, we have seen him do that before. I call it the Pena "tricky" play. I hope this can light a fire in them now and start hitting. Doesnt get earier with Halladay tonight, but we have beat him before. Nice to see the Red Sox lose some finally. If Rays cant be in top spot, we can still push for the wildcard. well Brenton..another loss tonight for rhe Rays. is it just me, or are they always lethargic after a day off? Finally those evil Red Sox lost, and we lost, so no gain. And what do you think about Neimann moving tot he BP? I was suprised by that concidering his record and how well he has pitched lately.

yes! victory!! for the rays and braves! I kept switching back and forth between the rays and braves game today! lol ..very happy for both of the wins! I really like mike gonzales..didnt even phase him one bit with the lunatic running on the field! still shut down the red sox! Now rays move on to toronto. Of course holliday is coming off the DL just for us. :)
