I enjoy trying to make life a little easier for others in whatever way I can. I spend a great deal of time on the internet bringing awareness to tobacco abuse. As a polio survivor I am trying to bring together other survivors with a forum, MySpace page and a webpage. Problem is there is only one of me and I've neglected the Polio Survivors to concentrate on Tobacco Abuse with my www.QuitSmokingHelp.org website, Freedom Village MySpace and my friends at "Freedom Village Quit Smoking Forum".
Music
Pop Rock, Soft Rock, Country, Oldie Goldies and Southern Christian.
Movies
I love movies...all kinds, adventure, comedy, drama, biographies and most all "feel good" movies by Disney and Dream Works.
Television
I love the Sci Fi Channel and Chiller..lol.
Books
When I was younger, I read a lot...always had a book in my hand but now I keep a novel by my bed and will read a chapter from it most every night. At this time I'm reading "Treasure of Khan" by my favorite authors Clive Cussler & Dirk Cussler on the continued adventures of Dirk Pitt.
Heroes
I have many heroes and couldn't begin to name them here....but...just as a start...my late father,my mother & sisters, people who quit smoking, people who help make life easier for the less fortunate, the disabled, the elderly and children...the list goes on....and on....and on :-) but basically...those who do good for all.

Freedom Village is an internet community advocating freedom from tobacco abuse. I am a 53 year old ex-smoker who lives in South Central Florida, USA. My given name is James, fourth generation, but family and close friends call me "Bubba". I became known some years back as "BubbaJames" on most quit smoking internet support forums.
Freedom Village MySpace was created to bring awareness to Freedom Village Quit Smoking Support Forum. Both, Freedom Village MySpace & Forum are dedicated to bringing awareness to most all humanitarian causes but most of all they were designed to bring awareness to the dangers of smoking tobacco. I have a bit of knowledge and experience in tobacco abuse. I know of its deadly & debilitating consequences and how to take control of the addiction. A few of my qualifications are:
•I smoked 2 to 3 packs of cigarettes a day for 30 plus years.
•I've been consistently quit since December 25, 2005.
•I've been quit off and on for 7 plus years.
•I've lost many friends and family members to tobacco abuse.
•I've operated and maintained a quit smoking support forum on Network 54 for 6 plus years.
•I've maintained QuitSmokingHelp.org website for several years.
•I maintain a quit smoking MySpace page and blog.
•I have been a WebRing Manager for many years.
•I have COPD as a result of tobacco smoking which also contributed to my CAD.
Each and every one of us are unique just as our quits are or will be. Ex-smokers can give you ideas on quitting and staying quit but ultimately it is left up to you to find what will work. If you're planning on quitting, use the comments section of this site to let us know of your progress or send me a message. It lifts my spirit when I hear of any one quitting or wanting to quit tobacco use. If you slip or relapse DON'T LET IT STOP YOU FROM TRYING AGAIN......NEVER EVER GIVE UP ON QUITTING! It's a trial-and-error/learning process. Have confidence and believe in yourself that YOU CAN ACHIEVE YOUR FREEDOM FROM ADDICTION!

Thanks Tobacco....You Killed My Mom
I greatly admire Aaron and his late mother for their contribution in getting the message of tobacco abuse across to those who seem to have so much trouble understanding the dangers of this deadly addiction. Aaron's mom died very much like my eldest sister Joy. If you smoke, quit now!

Thank you all for your support in bringing about awareness to Tobacco Abuse.......
Hello Everyone….
I smoked for 32 plus years. I lost two sisters and other family and friends to tobacco abuse. You can be assured I know how smoking can destroy and end lives.
This site is dedicated to bringing awareness to tobacco abuse and the benefits of quitting. It's NEVER too late to quit, even if, like me, you have COPD and other damages to your lungs from smoking. THE SOONER YOU QUIT THE BETTER, so don't wait until you have caused irreparable damage to your lungs!
You will find I am open minded and try to respect the views of everyone and I do promote Christianity along with most ALL Humanitarian and Health causes.
The movie has not been released on DVD yet but expect that to happen in October. I will certainly let you know when this happens. It is currently on the film festival circuit and will be released after our Hollywood Breathes Fresh Air event.

Hey Bubba :) Just thought I would stop by & say hello. How are things going? Are you enjoying your summer? I'll bet Florida is beautiful right now. It feels like fall here. It has rained pretty much the last 2 weeks straight! I hope you are doing well. God bless!

DEC. 5, 2006 WAS MY QUIT DATE, TO BE EXACT, NOW THAT YOU HAD ME TO THINK ABOUT IT. WOW! IT'S GOING ON THREE YEARS FOR ME NOW AND I NEVER EVEN REALIZED IT. THAT'S HOW MUCH I DON'T MISS SMOKING! I SURE HOPE WE ARE ABLE TO GET PEOPLE TO QUIT OR NEVER TO START SMOKING WHEN THEY SEE OUR PAGES. GOOD LUCK JAMES AND SO GLAD TO HAVE YOU IN MY CIRCLE OF FRIENDS!
I am truly blessed with the gift of your friendship. I'm very sorry that I haven't been in touch like I should have lately. With all that has been going on with Winston I have not gotten too many chances to be online. The weeks have really gone by fast. I praise God so much that Winston is improving and is almost back to 100%. Now we’re going through an uncertain future with JJ as he remains in ICU at the animal hospital. (Details on my blog if you're interested). Hopefully everything will be fine and back to normal soon. Will you please keep our family in your prayers? Thank you for understanding and continuing to be my friend.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DROPPING BY MY PAGE AND LEAVING SUCH A SWEET COMMENT. CANCER IS A HORRIBLE THING TO BE DIAGNOSED WITH AT ANY AGE AND LUNG CANCER IS ONE OF THE WORSE. I WATCHED MY HUSBAND SUFFER SO HORRIBLY FOR TEN MONTHS BEFORE HE TOOK HIS LAST BREATH. I SMOKED FOR 22 YEARS AND HAVE BEEN A NON-SMOKER NOW FOR ALMOST THREE. I TRIED TO QUIT SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I WAS FINALLY SUCCESSFUL. I WAS AFRAID THAT I WOULD BE CONSTANTLY WANTING A CIG. AND NOW I NEVER EVEN THINK OF THEM-THANK GOD!!! PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THAT EVERY DAY YOU DON'T SMOKE A CIG. THE EASIER EACH DAY GETS. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND FOR YOUR PAGE. TOGETHER, WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!! YOUR FRIEND AND SUPPORTER, LORI

ya not as good as last year but 3 of Liddies kids showed, so we was glad they still came, we were afraid they might not since she wasn't here to talk them into coming, she had left some squares she had crochet but never put together so the kids gave them to George's niece and she finished making a afagan out of them-and we all bring things and have an auction to pay for our reunion next year-now that got some biding going on-it went for 60 something dollars-I went to $40 and George told me to drop out cause the other 2 were her grandaughters, he said let them have it-that was always Liddie's favorite part of the reunion she would make people think she really wanted something just to get them bidding against her, then when it got pretty high she would say oh let them have it-and just laugh-I can just see her now-she was something else!!!!!
Just a note to say hello! Hope your doing well. I am still struggling with quitting, but not giving up yet...someday I will make it. I started back to work last week, hopefully that may make stopping a little easier for me. Anyways...you take care and have a great weekend!
