About me:
Freer Films is a film production company run by Chris Freer. It aims to put the freedom, fun and skill back into film making. It's about entertainment for us, we're not trying to change the world. We just want to make some bloody good films, tell a story and have fun doing it. It's been a long time since I've been to the movies and thought 'that was an amzing film from start to end, I can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it every day for a month'. Even films I've been looking forward to seeing....they're good but they lack in something which I can't put my finger on. It's played far too safe these days. Action films ain't too violent any more 'cos if you make a film for an 18 audience then you're diminishing your market. Terminator 3 was a 12 for fud sake!....a 12?! TERMINATOR!? And had a 'lady' Terminator known as a Terminatrix....f**k me, gimme a break! I'm all for equality but there was no explanation or reason in the film to explain why they started making Terminatrixes. What are they going to do in the 4th one? Have a sex scene between terminators then there's a wee maniac baby terminator?! I can see the title now: Termintor 4: Termibaby 'This time they've had a kid and they've left him Home Alone'.
Anyway, I should really rant on my blogs....and I'm sure I will....
The films we make are made for us. It keeps us amused. We enjoy it. If you so happen to enjoy our movies, then even better....join our wee fan club! Let us know your thoughts.
If you're an actor, then send over your CV, add us as friends. Let's together, make movies really good again...I'm talking the days of 'Raiders of the Lost Ark', where you actually forget there's a camera there filming it all when you watch it! I hear you all saying 'Ahhh, but Chris...that's because we were wee bairns when that came out and it's a classic'. Naw it's not....it's 'cos it was well made. The likes of those films can be made again, we are only limited by the boundaries of our imagination...which is infinite!
Together we have the skill and passion to do it so let's get crackin' with the knackin'!
