About me: FREE SPEECH turns two January 26 (and moves to Mondays)
Since January 2007, West End reading series/cabaret FREE SPEECHhas proudly been showcasing the prose, poetry, spoken word, comedy, storytelling and songwriting ofParkdale-High Park based writers and performers. FREE SPEECH celebrates its second anniversary on Monday, January 26 when the 2009 season kicks off with four exciting wordsmiths, including soulful singer-songwriter Brian MacMillan and multi-talented storyteller Eden Hertzogwho helped kick off the series two years ago. Also featured is theatre artist and community organizer Lisa Marie DiLiberto and writer/scholar Terry Goldie. As usual, FREE SPEECH is hosted by Johan Hultqvist.
Please note that the spring season will be held on the last Monday of each month. Apologies to those who have band practice / salsa class / work on Monday nights.

About the host:
Johan Hultqvist is an activist and the lead singer of JUNO-nominated Afrobeat collective Mr. Something Something. He's lived in at least half a dozen different places on both sides of Roncesvalles and loves his neighbourhood so much that he leaves it only to go on tour. His only remaining vice is wine gums.
