GARRY - is a well known face on the York music scene.
Having fronted numerous bands over the years since the late seventies
Garry demonstrates a wealth of experience on stage.
Bands that Garry has been involved with include Nerve Senta,
Watch with Mother, Life Support, Jackson Cage,
Stone Cold Sober and the Goosehorns to name but a few.
Garry is also a prolific songwriter
and has contributed songs to many band
albums during his career as a musician.
GAVIN - is probably best known for his part in the brilliant Blueflies.
His dynamic bass playing was first seen by this writer in a superb band called
Zoot and the
Roots where he worked alongside old friend, guitarist extraordinaire Miles
Gilderdale.
Surprisingly for most people Gavin has always been influenced by the band
Free
and is an avid fan of the great Andy Fraser. Gavin never drinks alcohol
these days and his mum always makes sure he is in bed by 9pm.
So now you know why Gavin is always reluctant to
play encores! But seriously folks the band are lucky to have such a
professional in the engine room.
JOHN - Recent addition to the band, having played with Garry before
in 'Overload'. John has always been a fan of Paul Rodgers especially the Bad
Co. days. John has been playing in bands around York for years and still
turns out for Invitro and PMT. Recreating the drumming of Simon Kirke in
Free Spirit is something John is relishing.
JOHN - who hails from Castleford, so impressed Garry with
his guitar playing that Garry suggested that they form a
Free / Bad Co. band which became Free Spirit.
John happily agreed although he still finds time to
front his own hometown band "Highway 49".
He has also had success with bands such as Challenger, Strange Brew and
Shades of Purple.
It has to be said that John's biggest influence
is the great Paul Kossoff. You don't need to be
a genius to spot that when you hear him play!
WAGGO - What can be said about this beer swilling Aussie and maestro of
the keys? He has played with many bands over the years and we are
pleased to have him playing with us on a regular basis. His talent and
vocal ability is what gives us the authentic Bad Co sound that has audiences
comimg back for more! He also likes the 'odd' beer......7,9,15 you get the
picture!
