About me:
Peachtree Freethinkers is Atlanta's new freethought organization for professional youthful-adults of all ages (18-98) who are freethinkers, atheists, agnostics, brights, secular humanists, skeptics, rationalists, or those otherwise self-identified as non-religious or nontheists.
Like with the general demographics of those who are online, most of the people in our group are in their 20's, 30's, & 40's and some 50's, & 60's+. This is not a singles group so couples are also welcome. Our goal is not to replace any current non-theist group in Atlanta but to provide a venue for the void of activities targeted to a more youthful active crowd.
Activities will be up to the members... social mixers, movies, dinners, cookouts, outdoor activities, ball games, cultural events, parties, etc...
Volunteers are needed to lead/organize activites. Send us an email if you are interested in helping to make this a fun group for freethinkers in Atlanta.
Visit our website at www.PeachtreeFreethinkers.org to lear more about our group and to sign up to receive email updates about activities.

GIVE US YOUR INPUT
Your suggestions and input is encouraged so that you can help make this a fun and successful group for everyone.
"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
Now that I found you guys, maybe us non-religious comics will step getting our asses kicked. Did you know the most successful stand-up comedy in Atlanta is the clean, non-controversial, conservative (and sometimes overtly religious) comedy done in these large auditoriums at the mega-churches. I do a lot of gigs in Gainsville where only overtly-religious comedy can get a good audience. Imagine my disappointment when I learned that the guy I was going against in the Punchline Super Comedy Competition on April 9th at 8pm at the Punchline Comedy Club was a religious comedian. The entire congregation will likely come out. However, if you guys come out then I will be happy to tell ALL RELIGIOUS JOKES just for you. See www.drpetecomedy.com/punchline# for more information.
Hey, thanks for the add!! I'm new to the Atlanta area and would love to meet new people, especially ones that are like-minded individuals :) Any social events upcoming or in the plans?

Hey everyone, I haven't checked this site in a while, but it looks like a great idea. I love science and learning more about it. It never stops revealing new things to learn!
I'd like to invite people to view my great grandmother Carola's artwork on her web site at http://www.CarolaGough.com.
I've written some free-thoughtish essays and commentaries on my MySpace blog and on my Blogspot blog at http://joshuagough.blogspot.com
Looking forward to some activities with group members here. take care, Josh
I think this is a great idea. I want to see if it works in Atlanta and then try it here in Albany, New York. Our local humanist group is mostly retirees and doesn't really address the needs and interests of younger members.

Great idea for a myspace group. I suppose I will introduce myself. I am 22 and enjoy writing about the greatness that IS man and the freedom that all should have. I am a Reasonist who uses his mind as his tool of knowledge, rather than mystic revelations and writings; which, by default, means that I am an A-thiest, as well as an A-anything that cannot be proven in reality; however, I AM pro-Indivual and view the human being as owner of his existence and responsible for both his sucesses and failures.
I look forward to meeting new like minded people, so those of you who see this, feel free to add me as a friend or send me a message.
If you go to my myspace page, I have quite a few Anti-mysticism, Reason based articles some of you might enjoy.
