Where Have all the Students Gone?
Why are college students not protesting the war in Iraq as they did during Vietnam? My friend began asking that question when making this video of a candlelight vigil held on the eve of the war’s fifth anniversary.

An embarrassing day for intelligent policy making. The rest of the world thinks we're all like this here you know?

From: some nutter's page

The Florida House of Representatives passed a bill this week that will require schools to teach "critical analysis" of evolution.

On Tuesday Michigan introduced a similar "academic freedom" bill. Louisiana, Alabama and Missouri also have legislation under debate, although no state has adopted a law yet.

..

If you haven’t read Charles Evolution’s pro-evolution book, then by all means order a copy.

It’s available at most online retailers in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Japan.....etc....and it’s inexpensive.

This is a 2 hour video that I think your members will be interested in. Lots on the history of religion, power, money, science, and philosophy. Very good stuff. Maybe even worth watching for one of your movie nights???

About My Podcast

Mindcore

Okay a podcast is a radio show on the internet. Its that simple. The word "podcast" is a play on the word "broadcast."

So if you think I might make an interesting radio show, then you should check out my podcast.

I am so ripped about my podcast that its not even funny.

The last podcast is entitled- The Science of Fucking

The podcast has me acting crazy on it like a mad scientist, and I plug in a lot of gangsta rap, industrial, and other weird post-punk soundtracks.

I cuss like a sailor, and I try to talk about the topics like I would if we were taking shots together.

I'm really proud of it so far, and think its fun to do, and I've enjoyed listening to it as well.

I also want feedback so that I can improve it.

Please check it out.

Unfortunately I had to move away from Grand Rapids a couple of months ago to finish up school, but I still strongly support the Center For Inquiry. You folks are doing a great job in the Grand Rapids area!

For the last 6 days there has been a Lansing State Journal photo diary of the delivery, erection & dedication of this years "Christmas Tree" in front of the Michigan State Capitol. Can you imagine that not one letter has been posted in protest against this. Should we care about this seemingly lil injustice in these global days of woe? I think it sucks and i'll be writing a letter to the LSJ to say so, but what a shame that they (who is "they" in this case...the Guv?) sneak this in under our publics apathetic radar. How difficult would it be to be all inclusive and call it a Holiday Tree? Do we really have no rights in this matter?

Why is it that many people will believe in something that has never been seen, such as "God", but it is ABSOLUTLEY worng in many people's eyes today to believe in marijuana use?
