Freetribes is a loose collection of Phoenix area musicians who gather to express themselves in the form of free improvisation. We gather weekly with an open invitation to anyone interested in contributing.
History of the Tribe
Freetribes started playing improvised music during the fall of 2005 with Mike Livingston and Jimmy Peggie at Common Grounds Coffee Shop in Scottsdale on Sunday mornings. Our following grew in early 2006 when we moved Coffee Talk in Mesa, attracting regular guests. Moving to Tempe has pushed the momentum with many of our favorite musicians from across the valley joining.
