There have been countless studies on how the music of a generation affects that generation. Music has the ability to influence, whether in a positive or negative way, thoughts, actions, language, moral stability, decisions along with other components that directly shape urban society. Recent studies have shown that more than 65% of Hip Hop music today is infested with sexual immorality, violence, infidelity, unrealistic lavish lifestyles, drugs and glorifying being incarcerated in an attempt to gain what some would call “street credibility”. Now, when we examine the Hip Hop genre for what it is, we observe that most people only refer it to the style of music that features the rhythmic presentation of words (and parts of words) syncopated to a beat. However, our urban generation of today will tell you that when speaking of Hip Hop, you are much more strongly referring to the lifestyle that goes along with the music. So given the popularity of this music genre, it commands our attention! Having examined it for years, I have determined that the promotion of the negative lifestyle and the images that are normally associated with the music is the area that needs fixing! The dominance of music, videos, and movies and their collective ability to shape and form American subcultures REQUIRES US to focus on the production of positive alternatives and entertainment products (in order to balance out otherwise negative influences). So as a direct counter action to the negative, The FreeYaMind Concert Tour is designed to influence the growing interest in activities and entertainment products that promote a higher moral standard of living. This student ministry activity seeks to capture the attention of youth and young adults by leveraging their entertainment interests. It will provide excellent concert production, nationally acclaimed Christian Urban artists, ministry and entertainment products with the intent to begin the process of drawing their attention away from concerts, clubs, secular music on the radio, music videos along with countless other influences that are dominated by the wrong messages.

Who I'd like to meet:
Christian music industry professionals that carry the complete balance of ministry and artistry!! When there's not a balance between the two, without having a TRUE relationship with God and by not studying His Word, you limit what He wants to do in your life; when you don't put time into your craft, then you limit your territory that God wants to enlarge!! SO BALANCE IS KEY TO YOUR MUSIC MINISTRY SUCCESS AND SIGNIFICANCE!!
