About me:
Hooking up communities with heaps of great music generally ignored on commercial stations, independent radio stations celebrate all that’s innovative and daring. These stations often shape the tastes of passionate music fans, and sometimes even transform unknown artists into tomorrow’s legends.
As independent stations operate as non-profits, listener and community support is vital. So, to help independent radio continue to thrive, Yaris and Urban Outfitters again join together to Free Yr Radio.
We kicked off this year’s campaign in SXSW with a party hosted by our friends at Austin’s KVRX and featuring performances by Simian Mobile Disco, Yeasayer and Times New Viking. Then, we joined forces with The Current for three days of live broadcast at the Free Yr Radio Broadcast Corner.
This year, Free Yr Radio is back to help out some new stations in some new cities, as well as partnering with a familiar faces again.
We’ll be announcing more of our concert series soon, so stay tuned for details!
