Freija plays finnish folksongs updated with fresh feelings and groove. The repertoire contains both famous and more rarely heard songs from various ages. The music is based on tradition but has band's own arrangements seeking new impressions and fresh colours. Also their own new compositions are heard. Freija's first album "Lempilauluja-Favorite (Love) Songs" was published in spring 2006.
Freija's second album "Kiekkumaralla" was published in september 2007 by Tammi Oy. The fabulous publication contains a cd and a songbook.
Freija on nykykansanmuusikoista koostuva yhtye joka tulkitsee suomalaisia kansanlauluja ja -sävelmiä raikkaasti, tunteella ja svengillä. Ohjelmistossa on sekä tuttuja että vähemmän tunnettuja lauluhelmiä eri aikakausilta, sekä omia sävellyksiä. Freijan musiikki pohjautuu perinteeseen ja tuttuun suomalaiseen melodiikkaan, mutta sovituksissa haetaan omaa ilmaisua ja tuoreita sävyjä.
Freija julkaisi oman kansanlauluihin pohjautuvan levynsä "Lempilauluja" keväällä 2006.
Freijan toinen levy "Kiekkumaralla, kansanlauluja lapsille" julkaistiin syyskuussa 2007. Julkaisu on upea levyn ja laulukirjan yhdistelmä. Julkaisija on Tammi Oy.
