February 14, 2009 - 2009 is shaping up to be a very busy year with 2 new CDs and a Key West video DVD in the works. One CD, tentatively titled "SHUT-UP & PLAY!" is an all instrumental guitar CD that I'm doing by popular request. The other CD, to be entitled "CONTRARIAN", will be comprised of at least, 12 songs including 6 brand new originals and 6 of Fremont John's most requested cover tune arrangements. The rhythm tracks were recorded at Private Ear Studio in Key West with Richard Crooks (David Bromberg, Bob Dylan, Dr. John, Paul Simon) returning on drums and Ivan Bodley (Cracked Ice, Sam Cooke) making his first recording appearance with Fremont John. Bubba Lownotes also plays bass appearing on 3 tunes. We are also booking a brief Midwest tour to take me to Michigan which will culminate in a show at West Shore Community College, Scottville, MI.
2006 was the year for Fremont John’s indie CD release, “Timeline”. An ongoing radio campaign garnered over 50 FM stations nationwide. “Timeline received FM airplay from New York City to, as far west as Reno, NV and from the northern tip of Michigan in Houghton to the southernmost city of Key West. Even more Internet stations are airing “Timeline” songs.

Hey Fremont John! Sorry I wasn't able to make any more of your gigs here after Hog's. The songwriting zone manifested itself in my otherwise feeble brain and, as you know, you either get it while it's there, or loose it forever. The good side of it was I got two good songs out of it, "Destiny", a Reggae and "Garrison Bight", a sizzler in Esus, plus one that's still in progress, "It's Hot!", a blues that kind of is on a saute like vegetables in a pan... that's what I felt like the other day sitting my @ss in the sun.. HA HA HA!
