The influences are way too many to list. 'Frenchbread' are influenced by all facets of music from Rock, Blues, Bluegrass, Afro-Cuban, Jazz, Heavy Metal, Reggae, Classical. If its good music, its good enough for them. For their creative approach with cover songs, Frenchbread leans on the likes of the Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, Little Feat, Traffic, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan, King Crimson, Bob Marley, Grand Funk RR, The Band, Marshall Tucker Band, Jamiroquai, Stevie Wonder, The Doobie Brothers, Phish, Bela Fleck, Yonder Mountain String Band, MOE, Keller Williams, Karl Denson etc..... for that needed inspiration.
Frenchbread & the Chinamen are a six piece band from Annapolis Maryland. The current line up has been playing together since 2004. Many of the members have played together for over 15 years in different local Annapolis groups. They are a fine tuned high energy rock jam band infused with a funky southern edge!!!
They write solid original music & are currently working on their debut studio album set to be released sometime in 2008!!! Frenchbread are submersed collectively in many styles of music by artists from many genres, especially those of the 60's & 70's !!! They have played all throughout the MD/DC/VA Mid-Atlantic Region collectively for many years. Individually as musicians their music has been played all across the country in many different collaborations of bands & professional recording projects. It has been said by many that "Frenchbread & the Chinamen live is NOT a show to be missed!!!" They released a CD Jan 21st 2006 recorded LIVE at Rams Head Onstage in Annapolis Maryland. Check out some tracks from the live CD above. !!!
"The band’s original songs are tight and very well-written with lots of guitar-driven jams topping them off. Mixing together a blend of funk, jazz, folk, reggae and rock into a psychedelic tapestry that will take you on a musical journey. Frenchbread and the Chinamen is what Annapolis has been missing for a long time. A great local jam band to be proud of." ~~ 'Bill Wright'~~ ... 'Roadtrippin'
