Need convincing? Read the following review from Aaron
Kupferberg’s Powerpopaholic blog:
“Scott writes sweet
melodic piano pop in the tradition of the 60's and 70's with a Tin Pan Alley
touch. The title track is an intro to "This Little Samba" a bossa
nova beat driven tune that recalls those light Burt Bacharach songs with a wry
humor about a wandering mojo. Todd Rundgren fans will surely appreciate the
bouncy "The First Assault Upon My Day" which sounds like it fell off
of Something/Anything. Scott's diverse influences are both immediate and
enjoyable. The wonderful "Real Estate" shows off some excellent
arrangements that recall mid 70's McCartney with true affection. Even with the hilarious ending song
"Start the Day" you can't help think of Brian Wilson in the sandbox
making up the words as he goes along.” (on CD).
Hows things? Thought I'd drop by and let you know that we are playing our last big show of the year in London. We're hosting and headlining at The Monarch which is in Camden on Wednesday 2nd December. It would be really cool if you could make it along and join in the fun, its shaping up to be a pritty cool party atmosphere :-)
Anyway, I hope you have a good weekend, drop us a comment and let us know how things are with you. Take Care Crawf xxx
The reason why I came to live in London is because I fell in love ! I really like the pictures you take, and the front cover of The Dreamer's record is stunning. Was it in Hampstead Heath ? I went there and I immediatly thought of it ! I would love to meet you ! x
Had just been thinking about you when I saw your comment. I bought the new Kings of Convenience album a few weeks back (but my mum has taken it with her, she loves it so much, it reminds her of her favourite Simon & Garfunkel records). Can't wait for the new album by norwegian pop princess Annie. Did I tell you about seeing Action Biker at Céline's lovely new shop in Brussels ? And I also went to see François and the Atlas Mountains and Jeremy Jay with J-M a few weeks ago. Tomorrow night I am going to see Camera Obscura. My friend Eric is going to be there as well. Should be great.
I've been reading a lot of books lately. My new favourites are "the serious game" by Hjalmar Söderberg (fantastic, do read it, it reminds me of Ingmar Bergman movies) and "first love" by Turgenev. The old books always seem to be the best. Don't seem to like current writers as much.
It's been a while since I've been in London. Would love to come in the not too distant future for a great concert. It's a pitty most things are anounced only a few weeks in advance which makes the Eurostar train too expensive and also makes it very difficult to take time off work.
If there is a London popfest in february I am certainly going to come again.
Hello, I'm just letting everyone know that our songs are free to download now!!! At the bottom of my MySpace page, check out the iLike music player (not the myspace player at the top of the page!). You can download all the songs off of the self-titled album there for free, I hope you all do so. Take care, Jim (Cassmark).
Thanks! And Im sorry about my disappearence, I will be back alive rather soon I hope! Its just stress related and it is devestating for my social life :-). Ill send you a longer update soon! By the way, are you going to Malmöfestivalen?
Saw a pretty picture of you at Indietracks! You looked fantastic : surely you were one of the best dressed people there! I wish I could have been there with you ...
