Movies
Dogma...almost any Monty Python (especially Monty Python and the Holy Grail & And Now for Something Completely Different), Nightmare Before Christmas, Pirates of the Caribbean series, the Harry Potter series, Grosse Point Blank, Labyrinth, Shrek series, The Commitments, Indiana Jones series, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Pulp Fiction, This is Spinal Tap, Rock N' Roll High School, My Cousin Vinny, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Blues Bros, The Sixth Sense, Hellboy, The Replacements, Pump Up the Volume, The Crow
My favorite all-time movie characters?
Capt. Jack Sparrow (POTC)- Johnny Depp
Silent Bob (Dogma) - Kevin Smith
Metatron (Dogma) - Alan Rickman
Prof. Snape (Harry Potter) - Alan Rickman
Hans Solo (Star Wars IV-VI) - Harrison Ford
I love these characters as created and interpreted by the actors...don't think anyone else could have played these parts anywhere near as well...
A few of my favorite scenes from various movies:
Television
Haven't had tv for over a year, but have been known in the past to watch: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Psych, Bones, Highlander, House, Simpsons, Supernatural, Monk, Tru Calling, Lovejoy, Angel, 24, West Wing
Books
Terry Pratchett, Tom Holt, JK Rowling/Harry Potter series, Anne Rice, Piers Anthony/Xanth, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, Janet Evanovich, Carl Hiaasen, Kim Newman, Alan Dean Foster's "Spellsinger" series, Joseph Heller's "Catch-22"...
Favorite Book: "Good Omens" by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
From Good Omens: God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of His own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players [i.e. everybody], to being involved in an obscure and complex variant of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.
Actually I read almost anything...Salinger, Hemingway, Orwell...biographical, factual, historical...comic books/graphic novels, cereal boxes, graffiti...whatever. Currently I just prefer to read for escapism :) too much shit going on
My Current Obsessions!
Everybody Out! - "Teenage Kicks" at New World Brewery, Tampa, FL 5-25-08
(includes bday shout out to me at the end...and yeah, that's my head bopping around there like i'm having a damn seizure ^_~)
Foxboro Hot Tubs recently released an EP with 6 highly addictive songs. I absolutely LOVE these songs, especially “Mother Mary”...well, actually all of them are excellent, not sure I actually have a fave anymore. Definitely a strong 60s/Beatles/Kinks vibe to these songs. OK, yeah, this is evidently a Green Day side project (shhhhh, don't tell anyone, guess it's supposed to be secret like The Network was - yeah, right - lol). And yeah, I'm obviously a Green Day fan...but I actually love this music for its own sound. In fact, it would be better for me if they weren't some side project...there would be the possibility of future releases...ah well, guess I'll just have to enjoy the 6 songs we've been gifted with ^_~
UPDATE: Foxboro Hot Tubs are releasing a 13 song LP soon. Click the above link to check out their music!

Gogol Bordello's new CD is out now, check it out!! The songs are freakin' awesome. Visit their myspace to hear some of the music, it's completely addictive ^_~
Ran across one of the most awesome collections of graphics the other day at ..Bells Box . You'll find some of their graphics and blinkies scattered around my page. The Gogol Bordello and Green Day blinkies in my music section above were custom made by Beck (Bells Box)for me!!
About me: I'm passionate about music, family, art...I'm completely fascinated with history, myths and legends, magic, world cultures and travel. I love to be different - HATE the idea of blending into the crowd!! I collect and wear outrageous vintage & one-of-a-kind jewelry, have my own style in clothes...I want to have fun with life!!
One of my favorite obsessions is finding new music to love...I hardly ever listen to radio - there really is only 1 station in my area that could even be remotely considered to be "my" kind of music...I prefer finding new (at least to me) gems through music blogs, friends, or finding out who my faves like or were influenced by...
You Are Teal Green
You are a one of a kind, original person. There's no one even close to being like you.
Expressive and creative, you have a knack for making the impossible possible.
While you are a bit offbeat, you don't scare people away with your quirks.
Your warm personality nicely counteracts and strange habits you may have.
Who I'd like to meet: Any of my favorite songwriters, artists, writers, actors...etc...I'd love to discuss what THEIR interpretation of their own work is and what their intention was
I really enjoy meeting new people. I love talking with people who have the same interests as me...i especially enjoy discussing music with people, exchanging opinions, whatever...everyone has their own tastes in music, so I don't expect people to necessarily like what I like ^_~
I'd also love to be able to go back to various times and places in our world's history as an observer...see WTF really happened, lol...fascinating!
I wanted to mark the passing of the great Ronnie Drew, the legendary Irish folk singer and musician, on August 16. As the founder of The Dubliners and in his own solo work, he was an inspiration and influence for countless musicians. He will be sorely missed. Cheers to you, Ronnie, and thank you!
The Pogues and The Dubliners - "Jack's Heroes"
My favorite...
time of year? Definitely the fall, particularly October. It's around this time of year that temps here in FL get somewhat cooler...can't freakin stand hot weather, I obviously live in the wrong place ^_~ Gotta love Halloween too :)
Nekromantix - Horny in a Hearse

The Dead Pets - Intro/Revenge of the Village Idiots (LIVE)
And if you're incredibly bored, I'm in the process of cataloging my music collection at RYM ^_~ I will say one thing, looking at the collections (mine and other people's) using the "visualize" option certainly reminds me how cool album art can be!
Order those two men some drinks and put it on my tab. You tell them that Republicans are not welcome in Hell's Kitchen... and either a political conversion or a change of conversation is in order. Sure thing. The gentlemen there would like to buy you a drink on one condition. You know the rules: no religion, no politics. You get my meaning
