Frequency Airborne

Bio:

This year something unique was created and Frequency was at the helm, alongside Brunel FM, and Create Studios.

Frequency Airborne is a battle of the bands with a difference. It started on the 4th May 2008. Live on the Frequency radio show 9 bands took part to win some sensational prizes and to become the Frequency Airborne band of 2008.

Each month there was a live event at the 12 Bar on Westcott Place, so not only were people able to hear tracks on the radio, acoustic sessions but also a live gig.

In this unique event for 2008, there were some fantastic prizes. Airborne Partner Create Studios put up a ‘Complete Studio Package’ as a prize. This included 5 days in Create’s state-of-the-art Sound Studio working alongside top producer Barry Andrews, through to the production of a finished CD.

Not only this but the winning band received a Mac Book Pro & Logic Studio software courtesy of airborne’s sponsor, Western Computer, Wiltshire’s only Apple Premier Reseller.

The Prizes did not stop as Media Plant provided 1000 CDs of what the winning band produced.

9 bands were selected with 3 showcased each month, one a week with a round up week. On the final week the three bands played live at the 12 Bar, Swindon. One band from each group of three was picked by public vote to take part in the final.

On the night of the gigs we teamed up with Puttyfoot Photography and JJs Hair to giveaway a Photo / Make over prize ...and if that was not enough Empire Cinema have given us cinema tickets to giveaway on the night....

With prizes, great music, it was free to get in and this is all about showcasing local music....this was the ultimate BOTBs.
