I strive to wake up the populous from the relationship fairytale - which we've been enthralled to since the early days of diaper changes and guilt-free midday naps - to show them that life is not a someone you seek. Humans are multiplying exponentially, and, given the general consensus that their "the one" is what's missing, that must mean there's a shit-load of emptiness out there. Misdiagnosed emptiness. It's all there...in you, but you...you just haven't taken the time with yourself to get to know the (w)hole. Companionship is an addition, a compliment, not a crutch. I champion emotional independence and the beauty of every single human feeling. From sorrow to ecstasy, everything is exactly as it should be. Realizing that notion is where most have trouble.
Most of my poems use humour to make their point. Often not funny har-har, but funny wordplay, wrong words, etc. I believe in brevity, wit, and simplicity. Here you will never find complicated axioms, overdrawn platitudes, or multi-layered enigmas that normally force a book of poetry from a readers hands. Sit back, read a little, listen a little, and well all smile a little more for the days ahead.
