Interests

  • General

  • Movies

    Um, ok, this one's harder.

Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Requiem for a Dream, Exotica, Lord of the Rings trilogy (duh), Sin City, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Hellboy, Tank Girl (it's fun, shut up), The Shawshank Redemption, The Graduate, The Hanging Garden, Dark City, The Truth About Cats and Dogs, Evil Dead trilogy, Serenity, original Star Wars movies, Pirates of the Caribbean, Donnie Darko. I'm sure I forgot plenty.

For laughs, Poison Ivy 2:Lily. And I loves me bad movies. Nothing beats watching a bad horror movie and giving it the MST3K treatment. ..
  • Television

Well, I watch more TV now than I'd like to admit. Usually we have cartoons on at the beginning of the day. Standard Disney/Nicktoons fare. Depending on the season, we'll have on Dexter, Ghost Hunters, Heroes, Degrassi: The Next Generation, Big Love, and Flight of the Conchords. Old favorites are shows like Buffy, Angel, and pre-season 5 X-Files. If I'm feeling particularly masochistic, I'll put on The 700 club. I am a big fan of old Adult swim with dancing Aquaman, but not this new crap. Well, except for Venture Brothers, which no one believed me was good at first X(. ..
  • Books

Eh, I don't read like I used to. Lord of the Rings trilogy, Amber series, The Dark is Rising series, American Gods, If Chins Could Kill, Lord of the Flies, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, The Last Unicorn. Truthfully, I'm much more of a comic nerd. Old X-Men (80's Claremont, early 90's), Dawn, Sandman, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, Squee!, some Green Arrow (blah, husband got me into it), blah blah nerd stuff. But you know what? Comics right now suck. So I'm not really reading any new stuff, just older books. I'm always reading the news online and various forums, as well as trying to keep up with medical terminology and knowledge. ..

I am a hermit through no fault of my own. Ok, kinda. But most of my days are primarily spent speaking solely with a toddler and a baby, so don't expect deep conversation from me. Well, you wouldn't get much conversation out of me anyway because of a lovely speech disorder I seem to have developed. My friend Scott says I didn't talk much as it was, so I guess you didn't miss much conversation, anyway?

Crafty, and not in the devious sense (oh, but I wish I was), I have way too many projects going on at the same time. Some projects have been ongoing since circa 2000. My big thing right now is knitting. Look for my Deady Bear pattern in Son of Stitch 'n Bitch.

I've been married since March 2004. My first daughter was born in October 2004, and I had another one Christmas Day 2006. We're all a happy nerd family. My oldest daughter is past her "ow-wah" stage for what she calls superheroes, and now she can point out Superman and "Bat-ben". The youngest is a bread fiend.

I'm a medical transcriptionist who works from home, but you can imagine how it's tons of fun trying to put in a full 40 hours while being a stay-at-home mom. I also do art and craft commissions in my free time, and have also served as an "art director" of sorts for some album art. ..

Who I'd like to meet:

Old friends. Possibly new friends. Ghouls and goths, hippies and nerds. Bonus if you are all of the above.
