I also love the Chocolate War Trilogy and Stotan by Chris Cutcher (swimmer bois are always a close second to gymnasts!). My all time favorite is A Separate Peace by John Knowles. Anything Star Trek will grind my George.
Most important is anything religiously oriented especially the old stuff like Aquanis and Ambrose and Augustine and even older like Clement and Chrysostom.
My ultimate fav other than ASP is The West Bank Group (1970) by Harold S. Kahm (written under the name Henry Sackerman). He is the author of 30 books which a good portion of discuss the ideals and realities of group relationships. This book changed my life forever and much like ASP gave me a new understanding on life and love and doing them both well.
