"Sometimes when you least expect it a sound comes along that makes you sit up and pay attention as happened to me on the 8th July.
The line-up at the Sound Bar included this young three piece band formerly known as "Autumn Ignites" – the band now go under the name of Friday Caught Fire, and very impressive they are too.
The lads have some really strong material which they deliver with amazing maturity, it's is well crafted and has obviously been written and constructed with a lot of care and attention. It is quite common to come across bands that can churn out good tunes, but with Friday Caught Fire you get that little bit more. There is a great feel of light and shade about their songs, which makes them easy to listen to. As a live act they have great stage presence and put their material over well.
I was very impressed with FCF and I will definitely be seeing them again."
Surface Unsigned Festival 2007:
"Birmingham based [Friday Caught Fire] have got an interesting, almost experimental alt-rock direction. Music full of ideas, creative guitar work making great use of FXs, they make a storming, energetic rock sound. Toby's ambitious vocals worked well with their solid material and they gave a tight and energetic performance."
"Some great melodies and an evocative vocal distinguish [Friday Caught Fire] as an exciting alt-rock outfit. Brooding yet energetic they have got a great sound; not afraid to prog things up a bit, it pays off and it made for a compelling sets worth of material. Some good riffs, great solos, and kicking beats; it comes together for a well thought out whole... A solid effort that really impressed. If they can continue to write songs at the high standard of standout track "Flare" surely great recognition will come their way."
Alright guys. I'm currently looking for solo acoustic support gigs, and was wondering if there might be any time you fancied having me along? Havn't actually got any recordings as of yet for you to have a listen to, but if you have any gigs lined up where you may be able to give me a chance, it would be appreciated.
