About Friend For A Foe - Wants Musicians (See Blog)
Friend For A Foe (FFaF) is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist/producer Chris Purvis that is slowly making big strides in the underground metal music scene with top-notch production and intricate hard-hitting riffs that capture the trials and tribulations of everyday life to absolute perfection.
Currently serving his country in the US Navy, Chris Purvis continues to pursue music and spread FFaF's music world-wide via online networking and word-of-mouth by military members and local civilian populaces internationally. FFaF has already impacted the Middle East as a top artist and producer for local Bahraini-based bands and has been featured on Middle Eastern metal music websites such as MHIB.com (Metalheads in Bahrain) and JorZine.com (Jordanian Metal Webzine). FFaF is gearing up for a departure from his Middle Eastern stint with a return back to Washington DC in the U.S. (Winter 2009) and will continue to make a name for what is hoped to be a local household name in the near future.
Climbing the online music charts as a number one artist on SoundClick.com and a number one local unsigned artist on MySpace.com, FFaF has also created an underground following through various online means as the digital age of media continues to progress and propel relatively unknown and unsigned artists into becoming additions to music libraries everywhere. FFaF has also been interviewed by and featured on Sevenstring.org (home of such interviews of artists and bands including Meshuggah, Unearth, and Nevermore) for being nominated and subsequently winning "Song of the Month" for his melodic yet brutal song "Repeat".
FFaF is putting the final touches on his upcoming EP "The Sky And The Fall" (due Fall/Winter 2009) and will feature vocal cameos from solo artists such as Greg Pope and bands such as Earthborn, North 25th, All Else Fails, and Valkyrie Treaty. "The Sky And The Fall" hopes to be an epic progressive metal album that includes heavy, bone-jarring riffs, precision drumming, dissonant yet beautiful melodic intricacies, and haunting lyrics from this astounding one-man show.
FFaF is becoming a force to be reckoned with and will soon be a full-fledged band with a talented roster of musicians beginning in 2010. Beauty coalesced with brutality. This is what metal is all about ... So abrasive you'll need to catch your breath.
