Friendly Square is a house that supports local and traveling musicians and artists by offering a venue for performances, space and equipment for recording and a place to rest one's head and eat some delicious (mostly vegan) food.
We are located just outside of Somerville in Medford, MA. We are easily reached via I-93, MA-16, the Red Line to Davis, the Orange Line to Wellington, the 96 to Winthrop & George or the 80 and 94 to Winthrop & Boston.
The members of Friendly Square are interested in building a community of independent and alternative show spaces, musicians and artists.
We book acoustic and quieter acts once a month and louder acts every couple of months. We can also help you book shows around the Boston area if we cannot put something together at our house. Shows are always FREE (donations for touring bands happily accepted) and ALL AGES; all we ask is that you respect our living space.
