Dear Friends,

Even if youve never met Chris Walker, theres a decent chance you have felt him. Chris has been a go-to bass player in town for years now, providing the bottom end for a ridiculous amount of bands, so if you go out to hear live music, you might well have been moved by Chris sublime bass rumble. The differences in the artists he has performed with are a testament to Chriselastic versatility and, even more so, to his musical abilities. While traveling to a gig early Friday evening September 14, 2007, Chris Walker was involved in a very serious car accident. The accident took place along I-74 while traveling to Indianapolis, IN. Little information is known on what caused the accident.  What we do know is that the car rolled over several times before coming to a complete stop.

Due to the accident, Chris suffered injuries to the C-5 and C-6 vertebrae, leaving him paralyzed from the waste down and without any fine motor skills in his hands.  After two major surgeries on his back and spine and 25 days in the neurological Intensive Care Unit of Methodist Hospital, Chris has returned to Cincinnati to start the hardest phase of his recovery at the Drake Center.

Friends for Chris Walker Fund was created to aid in the long term recovery.  Because of the injuries that Chris sustained, he will require a complete lifestyle change as well as ongoing rehabilitation.  Some of the necessities will include; transportation, living accommodations, continual follow-up care, medication, nursing aides and several types of therapy.  All which will far exceed his current insurance coverage and financial situation. The burden will be extremely tremendous. Funds raised by the Friends for Chris Walker Fund; will go directly towards providing the essentials to insure Chris; greater chance for recovery.
