Friendship fiction isn't just stories of first-graders exchanging notes in classrooms (though those tales are lovely). It can be about the emotional bonds that are created during wartime and in other tense situations. That's what you'll find here.

Separated in time and place, a young woman and two young men are united
in their goal: to protect those they care for from the destruction of battle.
The odds are against them.
Darkling Plain, fantasy tales about young people in times of
conflict.
In a world where war has lasted for generations, in which only the pitiless
nobles who wage war hold power, and those who cannot fight must suffer
or seek slow death . . . What would you do if you were a noble, and you
lost
the ability to fight?
Princeling, fantasy wartime novels on friendship, love, and sacrifice.
Any people with profiles that are PG-13 or under . . . but I offer an alternative to other folks. I try to keep this profile reasonably family-friendly by Friending only PG-13 and under profiles, but if you have a profile with subject matter or links that are intended for a more mature audience, feel free to send a Friends request to my main MySpace profile, Love in Dark Settings.
Between October and April of each year, I cannot take Friend requests because I do not visit MySpace during that time.
Please note that I don't allow advertisements in my Comments. A quick update on your latest news is fine ("My new book is out - how is your summer going?"), but please don't post anything along the lines of, "My new book is out, and here is the link to it . . ."
If you need to reach me, please e-mail me rather than using MySpace's message system.

Hi Dusk! Wishing you an abundant and joyful holiday season. :) Liz PS I'm celebrating my deal with St. Martin's for Death Will Help You Leave Him, the follow-up to Death Will Get You Sober.
Stick fighting is beautiful. I’d never really thought about it before all of this – and even if I had, I probably wouldn’t have thought about it in terms of beauty. But it is… beautiful.
Deadly too, of course – I guess that’s sort of the point….

Thanks for making contact – it’s good to know you’re out there. Yes, I’m glad Jos is writing crossover novels too, because it means I get to really grow up – I mean REALLY grow up – over the course of the series.
Listen, I know times aren’t easy, (no one’s ever ready for an apocalypse), but, please, just try to stay warm, try to stay dry, and DON’T EVER LOSE HOPE. Whatever little is left of the human race, and whatever we can build from it, we’re going to need writers like you to help lead us – writers who aren’t afraid of the truth.
Thanks for your support, Dusk. Hope all's well with you. I'm going through the proofs now, and we're on course for publication in mid-May. Best wishes, Thor
