In the heart of the seething Steel City a lonely figure stalked the unlit streets armed only with an acoustic guitar and Batman cape. In an effort to rid the streets of crime our super hero in training, Jim Friend of Batman vanquished the scum and shit from the gutter to enable an easy life for the great and good.
One lonesome crime fighting night, Jim came upon a huge hulking weirdo attempting to extort sweets from a small girl guide whilst brandishing a large squeaky club. Being a nice guy Jim intervened and the ensuing battle that took place has gone down in history as man and beast fought tooth and nail for 3 weeks (the Girl Guide left after 10 minutes and didn’t even say thank you). Being no match for Jim’s guitar the evil enemy was thwarted and lay slumped on the grass verge (nestling between dog dirt and used jonnys), he looked up into Jim’s eyes and said “Badman beat Terry, Terry not beaten before” a single tear rolled down the beaten baddies face. Jim FOB took pity on him and gave him a spare mask to cover his ugly bruised face. This one act of kindness instantly affected the big bully who decided that he was less likely to take a panning if he stuck with our hero. Jim helped the fella up and asked him his name, the man replied “Terrys Allgold”
And lo the legend that is Ultra Violent Acoustic was born!!!!
Shortly after the tremendous ruck Jim and Terry happened across a small unassuming man cowering behind his Cello case at a bus stop cuz he’d just seen a mouse. Terry laughed but Jim coaxed the little man from his crouched position and noticed a small badge that said My name Is Irwin Blandman if you find me please return to… The last part was blurred so not being able to return him from whence he came Jim asked the weasely man if he would like to do the accounts for a Crime Fighting duo. Being numerically challenged Irwin declined but offered his services as a worrier. Jim and Terry agreed that they didn’t have time to worry being super heroes and agreed that Irwin (or Blandman as he was to be known) could do the worrying for them.
And so that day went down in the annals of history as the unlikely trio of Jim FOB, Terrys Allgold and Blandman came together as……

The Bon Bon Club are Sushi Quatro (bass, vox), Thirsty Moore (drums,vox) and Chapatti Smith (perc, vox), although Sushi and Thirsty are better known under different names for their day job as the rhythm section of Sheffield glam-popsters The Long Blondes.
