About me: Front Yard Fright, located on the corner of ELIASEN AVENUE and 1ST STREET SE in Waverly, Iowa, is back for 2009 and is bigger, better, and SCARIER than ever!
This year we’re featuring FOUR ATTRACTIONS at ONE LOCATION for ONE PRICE! First, make your way through our all new HOUSE OF SLAUGHTER! After that, try to make it through the CEMETERY OF THE DEAD! If you’ve made it that far, you’ve
arrived HOME SCREAM HOME! Then make your way through our final attraction, TOXIC CHAOS! We also have our brand new KIDDY KREEP HOUSE - a kid friendly haunted house - as well as a LIGHT SHOW for the young ones! Admission is only a $6.00 DONATION - a portion of which goes to the WAVERLY HUMANE SOCIETY.
We are open at 7:00pm every Friday and Saturday in October starting October 9th.
In addition to our eight nights of fright, our KIDS DAYS this season will be on the 17th and 24th.
We are always looking for new volunteers to help out with our haunted house. Running a haunted house requires a lot of time, money, as well as a large crew to help with it all! If you are interested in volunteering at Front Yard Fright this season, we have a variety of things you can do to help us out. You can act, do make-up, do costumes, security, etc… We need help in all areas!
We also need people to help build, paint, set up, and tear down our haunt every year. It's hard work, but it's very rewarding in the end. We also do our best to take care of our volunteers. We supply water, pop, and food every time we work as well as every night the haunt is open.
As far as acting goes, no experience is necessary, but this requires a desire to do your best. Acting in a haunted house can be both fun and rewarding. The power you have over people looking to be frightened can be extremely exhilarating.
We look for actors that are at least 13 years of age, will show up on time, work weekends, and have reliable transportation. If you've always wanted to dress up in costume, be someone else, and run around scaring the daylights out of people, this is the place for you!
