I'm a huge fan of U2. I grew up listening to an incredible variety of music. Towards the beginning it was the stuff my parents loved which now I do as well like Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, John Hartford, the Eagles, Marshall Tucker, and Waylon Jennings. Later I restricted myself to only christian music like Petra, DCTalk, Degarmo and Key, Phil Keaggy, The Sparks, Steve Taylor, Russ Taff and Larry Norman. Now I'm listening to a ton of Tom Petty, Feeder, Gay Dad, The Black Crows, Jane's Addiction and of course all my best friends music, Flick, Fern, Rabbit Fighter and even some JQP for old times sake. Oh yeah and I can't forget all my Songpull favorites Oran Thornton, Oran Thornton, Oran Thornton, Oran Thornton, Oran Thornton, and so many more.
Sounds Like
It's been hard for alot of people to try and describe Fritz and His Cowboy Outfit. I hear some JQP at times, Tom Petty at other times. There is a song called Crushed Velvet that sounds a little like U2...ok maybe alot. I think if you read my musical influences, you would conclude that it sounds exactly like that!
Well, just in case anyone is still wondering, the answer is yes...I did used to sing for Johnny Q Public. The band broke up in 2000 and since then I've been on as much of a roller coaster ride in life as I was when traveling with the band. My wife of 16 years, Marla, and I had our first child just weeks before 9/11. His name is Elvis (and that's not a typo). He's been the greatest and most inspiring thing that has ever happened to us. And I don't know if it breaks the MySpace rules, but he also has a MySpace page. I started a business, Fritz Designs and Concepts at about that same time. We specialize in high end cabinetry and entry doors for the home. Our site is fritzdc.com. But, what I've been more excited about lately from a musical standpoint has been Songpull. I started Songpull in my dining room about a year and a half ago and it has been overwhelmingly exciting to see it grow into such an amazing journey for songwriters all over the world. We started songpull.com a few months after our first pull and it has just taken off like a wild fire. Take time to learn what it's all about at songpull.com. Hope you enjoy.

Dan. We had a good time at Brogans the other night. Perhaps we will become regulars. Late night theological conversations and country western sing-alongs are where it's at. Even for those who don't know the words, or Word. Get it? It's a pun. Cheers.
Please be there tomorrow night at Brogans when I release my CD In Plain Site. Then Friday, I am playing a full band show at the Outland, downstairs.. Try to come out and bring friends. I'll be doin all the favorites, as well as some new ones...
John O'Reilly hoisted his beer and said, "here's to spending the rest of me life, between the legs of me wife!" That won him the top prize at the pub for the best toast of the night! He went home and told his wife, "Mary, I won the prize for the Best toast of the night. She said, "Aye, did ye now. And what was your toast?" John said, "Here's to spending the rest of me life, sitting in church beside me wife." "Oh, that is very nice indeed, John!" Mary said. The next day, Mary ran into one of John's drinking buddies on the street corner. The man chuckled leeringly and said, "John won the prize the other night at the pub with a toast about you, Mary." She said, "Aye, he told me, and I was a bit surprised myself. You know, he's only been there twice in the last four years. Once he fell asleep, and the other time I had to pull him by the ears to make him come."
