I'm a Coen brothers(Oh Brother Where Art Thou, The Big Lebowski) and Kubrick (Doctor Strangelove, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, 2001 A Space Odyssey) fan. So twisted movies are my favorites. Fight Club and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas are in that group. Then there is Spike Lee. Malcolm X and Inside Man are fav's as well. Steve McQueen movies are up there too; Le Mans, Great Escape, The Getaway and Bullitt. Then various movies that have just hit me the right way; Serinity, Color of Money, Rounders, Apocalypse Now, Crimson Tide, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Sexy Beast, Snatch, Live and Die in LA, Underworld 1 & 2, Apollo 13, Shawn of the Dead, and more.
Television
The early 21st century drug of choice. A shared illusion, making its addicts think they have friends, a life, access to good information, and the critical thinking skills to form valid opinions. Fatal in large doses.
Books
I like to read anything about submarines, because I damn sure ain't getting into one for real. And sailing. (On the water is fine. Under, not so much.) Otherwise, just classics (got to catch up on my grade school reading assignments).
