About me: Australian fashion designers online
f.rock fashion is an online designer website for new and emerging designers to keep up to date with all the latest business training, networking functions and most importantly, following the success of fellow designers.
As you know the road to having a successful fashion label isn’t always about the glitz and glamour of parties and fashion parades, as there is lots of hard work going on behind the scenes, that often doesn’t get acknowledged. These small stepping stones are often a series of events that lead you on your pathway to great success.
The frock fashion website is your opportunity to tell the rest of the fashion community about these small wins as you go along your road to fulfilling your dreams.f.rock is the ultimate fashion event for fresh and new designers on the Sydney fashion calendar.
f.rock was formed in 2005 to establish a reputable fashion industry on the northern beaches in Sydney, and to raise the profile of designers and creative professionals in this area, has caught the imagination of the local population with its big nights of glitz, glamour and fashion statements
Fashion designer Helen Sattler says "f.rock started out with a handful of people, and grew to feature a total of sixteen designers and over 60 volunteers."
Who I'd like to meet: f.rock designers are FASHION EXPOSED - Sydney
For those of you who were considering the idea of participating in Fashion Exposed, but just couldn't for whatever reason...Here's the heads up...
Overall the opportunity for the f.rock designers was a successful adventure. Given that Fashion Exposed costs 1000’s of dollars, the event was a definite learning experience for them all.
f.rock fashion had two media releases published in the Manly Daily in relation to our designers attending Fashion Exposed, which was great, plus we also had the casting director of Project Runway visit the designers.
Australasian Textiles & Fashion - apparelb2b supported f.rock fashion by promoting it in her fashion industry newsletter.
WHAT THE DESIGNERS SAID....
Fashion Exposed review: Henry Holland Eleventh Commandment
I was impressed with the setup of Fashion Exposed. It seemed to be very well run. The best part of the experience for me was meeting the other designers that were exhibiting and making new contacts.
Fashion Exposed review: Sacha Alagich Escape to Paradise
Overall I had a great experience, it was great to be part of, to meet other designers. I learnt alot about the industry, how it works, plus working out the right wholesale price, as well as how people buy for stores.
I receive orders from six new stores from around Australia who all bought my product (Adelaide, Coffs Harbor, Port Douglas), places I wouldn’t normally travel to. It was also great to meet new retailers for the future. I was also approached by Travel Living magazine, who want to feature my designs. The Travel Living magazine targets platinum visa cardholders and travel agents etc
So those who missed this opportunity in Sydney, f.rock fashion will be doing it all again at Fashion Exposed Melbourne in September (Aug 30 - Sept 1)
Expressions of interest...are now being accepted...
